Hey, fairly new to Magic, only been playing a couple months. I saw the Dragonstorm card and figured I'd try building a deck around it for workstation.

Lands:

x18 Mountain
x3 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

Creatures:

x4 Bogardan Hellkite

Sorceries, Instants:

x4 Dragonstorm
x4 Seething Song
x4 Rite of Flame
x4 Lightning Bolt
x4 Wheel of Fate
x4 Pyrokinesis

Artifacts:

x4 Lotus Bloom
x4 Lotus Petal

Planeswalkers:

x4 Chandra Ablaze

The basic idea is to ramp to Dragonstorm asap for x4 Hellkites on the field. Burns, Valakut, and Chandra for protection and to give myself more ways to play Dragonstorm.  Wheel of Fate for draw and to give Chandra more ammo.

Is there a better way for me to get cards in my hand than Wheel of Fate? Should I swap any of these for Gilded Lotus or more burn? Should I run more than one color?

Any tips appreciated.

Valakut is doing nothing for you.  You have no way to get it online fast enough to do real damage.

You need 2 or 3 more Dragons, I like Hunted Dragon .  They make for a nice cheap dragon you can cast early if you draw it, or they sit in the deck waiting to be stormed out.

Needs Burning Wish over Wheel, so you can SB 1 copy of Dragonstorm.  Maybe even a few Gamble s to help you tutor for Dragonstorm.  Though Gamble is risky.

Chandra Ablaze is bad, you'd be better served with Simian Spirit Guide as another way to pay for your first ritual early.

You really need a back up plan.  Back when it was in Standard, Ignite Memories , but I don't think it'll be as effective in Legacy.  Splashing Blue for Brainstorm for digging and Brain Freeze for an alternate kill.  It also opens you up for counter magic to protect yourself (ie: Force of Will ).

Lotus Bloom is probably too slow, another Ritual is probably in order.

Yeah, I went ahead and replaced it with Spinerock Knoll .

I thought about adding more dragons, but they just take up burn slots or ritual slots.

Any ideas? Infernal Plunge doesn't really work with this deck.

I tend to pull a Lotus in my opening hand and it usually takes me 3 or more turns to set up Dragonstorm anyway.

You need the Dragon's because you need to have ~20 power avalaible when you Dragonstorm out with a storm count of 4.  What happens if you drew a Hellkite?

As far as Rituals go, you option is pretty much Desperate Ritual or it's M12 younger brother (that I can never remember what it's called).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't Manamorphose be in the deck somewhere?  A free way to draw into action seems like it would help you combo easily...
