Did some play testing with a lot of the top players that'll be at the event.  Forge Devil is looking like it'll be a dead card.

I'll be going up to 4 Waifs, and I think I'm going to SB a 4th Tibalt for VS Control as well.  As well as a 4th Thunder Bolt.

If I end up doing well, I'll see if I can get you some Tibalts Islands.  But the deck has to at least win me my entry fee back.

You have to play excetionally tight.  You have to use your burn perfectly and you have to be very wise to get the most mileage out of Tibalt.

A single misplay here can often be curtains.

Could you give some examples of tight play?  If this-then that kind of stuff that someone less experienced with the deck may not pick up on right away?

Stuff like when to use Tibalt's abilities wrt what's in your hand.  When to play what to get the mostout of Brimstone Volley's morbid clause, when to burn vs. when to let your creatures do the damage, etc...

Drawing Thunderous wraths at the right time, and being able to activate Tibalt and discard the right card

The best example of tight play is not making moves that limit your lines of play... and by definition playing to your deck's outs.

Don't throw away resources/cards to lines that only end in you losing the game.

Let that sink in for a while. Its true of any deck... but since this deck is so high variance being excellent at it rewards higher here.

I guess that's what I'm asking.

When is the right time to activate Tibalt's +1 so the random discard helps instead of hurts?

Drawing TW at the right time sounds like luck.  Don't you pick it up with Tibalt's 1 and get stuck with it in your hand half the time?

What's the current list BTW?

Ran this tonight. First time with it so obviously some player error, but overall it seems solid. I'm short a Vexing Devil so I ran an extra Boros Reckoner in the main, and I had 1 Hellion Crucible in place of a mountain. The Hellion Crucible was never relevant; the only times I could make the token it was too late to save me. It would have been better as another red source.

Went 3-2:
Round 1 vs Gruul. T2 Burning Tree Shaman into Skarrg Guildmage, T3 Huntmaster, T4 Thragtusk, and T5 +4/+4 trample bloodrush onto Thragtusk kind of wrecked me. Went 1-2, and really wasn't sure what to do better. Skullcrack stopped some life gain but it wasn't enough. I was also stuck on 2 land game 3, when I needed to hit that third land for Brimstone and Reckoner.
Round 2 my opponent never showed up, so I technically won.
Round 3 vs Orzhov (control?). Enough small guys at least one would stick through his removal, and enough burn that half of it went to his face, and Skullcracking when his Nighthawks swung. 2-0
Round 4 vs Bant control. Slow deck, side in the Reckless Waif! T1 Waif, T2 Noble followed by Pillaring the Snapcaster he played just to stop the Waif, and T3 Waif transforming and he could never recover. 2-0
Round 5 vs Gruul Werewolves. Huntmaster, burn, and a misplay on my part and I got stomped. 0-2

At least to me, R/G seems to be an issue because it shares your removal options while having larger creatures.
There was never a time where Forge Devil would have been worth playing; I'm dropping him from my sideboard. Possible replacement options are Volcanic Strength or Madcap Skills , either would be nasty on any of your creatures. Volcanic, at least, would help against the R/G decks, and I think I'm going to give it a try.

I'm not sold on 4 Wraths. Probably half the games I had one in my opening hand, but the rest of the hand was solid enough to keep it. And Tibalt never discarded it. Actually, Tibalt never saw play in the games I won, only in the games I lost, so that's either user error (I don't think as much, because I didn't play him until I was okay with things in my hand getting discarded) or coincidence. My one misplay with Tibalt was -4'ing when I should have +1'd to work towards his -6.

If I had the lands, I'd totally splash the white for Boros Charm as well. Unfortunately, I don't at this moment.

So, this post has returned faith into me that RDW can be a thing again. So I'ma give it a go.

Land:
12 Mountain
4 Clifftop Retreat
4 Sacred Foundary

Creatures:
4 Rakdos Cackler
3 Legion Loyalist
4 Stromkirk Noble
4 Vexing Devil
4 Ash Zealot
3 Boros Reckoner

Sells:
2 Brimstone Volley
3 Boros Charm
3 Pillar of Flame
4 Searing Spear
3 Skullcrack
3 Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded

SB:
3 Recklass Waif
3 Forge Devil
2 Oblvion Ring
1 Skullcrack
3 Thunderbolt
1 Boros Charm
1 Brimstone Volley
1 Assemble the Legion

As you can see the white is for Boros charm

Also I've been told that Boros Reckoner isn't good for if you happen to get into a reckoner fight, you have no way to deal with him. You'll end up trading reckoners.

Idk.
Decks I play:

Legacy:
Cherri0s (Deck in progress)

Modern:
R/G Tron

EDH:
Gisela Midrange
Wrexial Control

Standard:
3C MBC Control
Dark Boros Aggro
Wolfrun Bant

Screw the reckoner. Board in some frostburn weirds or just say eff it and take the damage. Bring me down to one i'll still kll you. Reckoner doesn't make pausity. I'll spend two when you drop your three to spear.
Limited Guidelines:

5.0: I will take this card no matter what: Pack Rat
4.5: Bomb and/or splashable creature or removal: Aetherling
4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors: Advent of the Wurm
3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Gaze of Granite
3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature: Ascended Lawmage
2.5: Solid pick in-color: Bronzebeak Moa
2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Haazda Snare Squad
1.5: My 23rd or 22nd card, depending on removal. Wake the Reflections )
1.0: 23rd card if I don't maindeck an additional land: Murmuring Phantasm
0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in: Uncovered Clues
0.0: I will shred this card for counters: Possibility Storm

If you spear Reckoner your opponent gets one to throw at you or one of your creatures for free.
