If I control a creature with soulshift , could I use Artificial Evolution to get some other type of creature back from my graveyard?

No. The word "spirit" does not appear in the rules text of promised kannushi , so artificial evolution can't change it. Similarly, Mind Bend can't change what fear does.

As dfar as the rules are concerned, the rules text of (say) Burr Grafter is "Soulshift 3." The rules text doesn't include the CR definition of Soulshift.

Reminder text has no game function, so even if it could be changed, it won't change how the card works.
