What, no lands too?

I wonder how much play this will see. It's interesting.

Yeah, they've been making lands have "unofficial hexproof" these days it seems. Compare Craterize to Stone Rain or Despoil or whatever else.

I like how my "not only creatures can have extort" hypothesis has been proved.

Apparently lands cost the extra 2 .  And oddly, with the common tap lands and shocks, the ETB tapped on lands probably wouldn't have killed standard, but whatevs.

@ bay - yeah, more like hexproof and pro mass removal.  I've been hoping for a Wildfire reprint someday...doubt it will ever happen.  Unfortunate.

I really like this card.  Probably one of my favorite in the set.  Wished Gideon Jura was in standard....

This will definitely be played... just not sure whether it will be played more in Boros aggro or control. It's a very solid little 2drop.

It can be played in both. This is very much a card that helps aggro more than control because they will actually have creatures able to attack to abuse the fact that the opponent's creatures are coming into play tapped. However, the tempo loss is something to note, and there are other things aggro may want to be playing t2.

A wise man on film sequels:

Watching sequels to really good films is like visiting a bollock kicking parlour, paying your money and then proceeding to get your bollocks kicked...then leaving and returning at a later date to repeat the process.

Why, when Kismet only saw play as a combo piece with Stasis and specifically because it hit lands, do people think this card will be playable? It's an extraordinarily niche answer to Falkenrath Aristocrat, for which many other defences abound.

It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.

It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

It does help with tempo:

Your opponent's can't flash block, it does an okay job of fighting Thragtusk reactivism, haste on their end works negatively (i.e., this equalizes their haste advantage). Sure, it doesn't slow their lands down and that does make it worse, but it's half the cost and it helps you eat at their lifetotal. This one fits in as one of many "rock and a hard place" cards, because what it does is force the opponent to spend resources dealing with IT before they can start dealing with other things. Unlike Kismet , multiples are useful.

"Possibilities abound, too numerous to count."

"Innocent, unbiased observation is a myth." --- P.B. Medawar (1969)

"Ever since man first left his cave and met a stranger with a different language and a new way of looking at things, the human race has had a dream: to kill him, so we don't have to learn his language or his new way of looking at things." --- Zapp Brannigan (Beast With a Billion Backs)

Hoses  haste attackers
Hoses flash blockers
Stacks Extort, so multiples are not as useless as other hosers.

I wonder is this will be an enabler for a Draw-go control deck

Seems like a nice sideboard card... Unless you really have THAT much issue with haste beasties, like strangleroot geist
