I dunno, I'd think about switching some of the swampss out for Woodland Cemetery s (if you prefer shocklands, Overgrown Tomb ), With 4x Cemeterys, you could have enough of a green splash to run Naturalize in your sideboard, or Golgari Charm , or Abrupt Decay , or Vraska the Unseen (though Vraska probably isn't what you want for this deck :P)

The birthday wish is for B/U zombies. The plan is not to make the best deck, but the best deck possible that is black, blue, and full of zombies. If there is no way of dealing with Rest in Peace , then that's fine: It will be a limitation of the design constraint.

Most people only run 2x Rest in Peace in their sideboard. Assuming a six-turn game, there is only a 1/3 chance of drawing one.

After more play testing, I've come to the conclusion that Killing Wave is awesome. I'm thinking of:

-2 Bone Splinters
+1 Ultimate Price
+1 Killing Wave

This would result in:

Other (10)
2 x Killing Wave
3 x Tragic Slip
3 x Ultimate Price
2 x Vile Rebirth

I think it is good sometimes. Too often people will sac all of their critters except for the important ones. It is, however, almost always incredibly awesome with Blood Artist , as you've surely noticed.

I just want to thank everyone who helped out with this project. My daughter was very excited and it's a fun, casual deck, and when it works it's a blast. Here she is beating dad's Izzet deck:

I'm not sure this deck will ever be FNM competitive, but the manabase is clearly better with Watery Grave . Some combination of Undead Alchemist , Wight of Precinct Six , and Undercity Informer may be possible.

Have you tried it at FNM yet? It honestly looks solid. I'd go at least 3-1 with this list at my meta.

Barter in Blood is a pretty decent card.

Falkenrath Noble , too -- replacing a Blood Artist.

As for the enchantment...

[rant]
Just splash white.
The color of cheap and effective planeswalker removal, creature removal, enchantment removal, artifact removal, graveyard removal and the color of flying, lifelink, indestructible creatures, first and double strike.[/rant]

Duress will help, and Duress + Appetite for Brains are two nice sideboards, methinks.

I don't have 4x Watery Grave yet, but when I do I might (they are proxied). I have played it with 3x Dimir Guildgate and 1x Watery Grave in between games at FNM, and I'm 2-1 overall.

If and when my Bant aura deck falls prey to Glaring Spotlight , I may try it.

I don't think splashing white is a good idea, despite what it adds, because this deck wants to run with 22x lands and be very fast. Even with the many possible combinations of dual colored lands, I think mana fixing would be a problem.

I haven't even started thinking about a sideboard yet. I don't usually play black, but I'll have a look at the meta and see what is usually done. Sever the Bloodline seems like a given.
