If only Grand Abolisher  were still in standard...
I wonder if Hypersonic Dragon  will be in sideboards to deal with the Ghoast Council.
Or you can use instant-speed removal: Murder  , Selesnya Charm  , Victim of Night  , Trostani's Judgment  , Rebuke  , Launch Party  and Corpse Lunge  , Harvest Pyre  in some circumstances, Divine Verdict  ... and whatever else is in Gatecrash. Since removal is almost always useful....
All of 2-3 of those would see play, and, in the current meta, only one does. (I'm not supporting the use of Hypersonic Dragon, mind)

Seems like he'd make an interesting Commander, possibly...?

Why play him over or even in addition to Geralf's Messenger?
Jarad plays on a similar tune as Obzeda and wins you the game fast when you throw your ghoultree at them.
Rakdos is insane in comparison. Rakdos Deck Wins all over again. I can't stand red, but golly gee whiz this is going to produce a whole lot of turn 5 wins!!
Niv-Mizzet wins games just like Isperia and generates card advantage if it doesn't.
I simply don't buy the whole "is good because it doesn't die to sorceries".
We have hexproof for that, and hexproof is better.
By all means, my favorite deck is exactly white and black -- but there is no room for a 5/5 for 5 that needs 10 turns to win me the game.
Suicide black is likely going to be better than Orzhov looking at the two jank mythics slots wasted so far.
TWO JANK MYTHICS for my favorite color combo

Victim of Night sees a little play, Murder could possibly if the format slows down. Selesnya Charm sees play. As does Tragic Slip  in certain builds. Brimstone Volley  could work too. Thunderous Wrath  and Tribute to Hunger  exist too, as does Volcanic Geyser  .
Certain there will be some more instant speed removal options spoiled with GTC. We still have Orzhov and Dimir Charms to look forward to as well.

This card is NOT for you.
Also, Obzedat, Ghost Council  presents a larger lifeswing than Geralf's Messenger  on not just one, but both comes into play triggers of the latter, and requires less Black to dedicate. Obzedat is NOT a "jank" mythic, and one playing Obzedat will likely NOT be playing the Angel, as if one goes in hand with the other by virtue of its color!

Dude whatever your smokin can you pass me some? For one you probably not playing him in just b/w. He fits best in either junk or esper control. You think what you want but my arguement is, he doesn't die to this  Nor does he die to dreadbore  , terminus  , Supreme Verdict 
If you play esper you have access to counterspell, if you play junk you have Angel of Serenity and near GY tricks to bring him back
The only great removal against him is Selesnya Charm but there are many ways around it still...

The arguements on both sides are interesting. I think it will see play. I think its good. But is it Armada Wurm good or Angel Of Serenity good?
Cuz it looks like the first pre-sales on Ebay are ending a little after midnight for close to $70. Idk if its an $18 card. I'd like to pay $10 for it...
Remember, everyone knew Angel was a big deal in October. Jace dropped from, what, 40? to 20-25... Vraska, 50?! to 10. Wurm 15 down to what, 8 now? Rakdos Return has fluctuated. Only Revelation has made a big spike. I know almost every card drops after release but apparently there are a few out there who think its gonna be tier 1.
