Haste allows a creature to attack immediatley, flash allows a card to be played as if it was an instant. Does flash also allow creatures to also attack the turn they were played like haste. I think no but opponent was told otherwise. Please advise.

No, it does not.
Keep in mind that flash allows you to cast the creature in your opponent's end step. If you do this, you will only have to wait a very short time for summoning sickness to wear off.
