OK so here's two scenarios I ran into that ended in lots of argument but I wanted to see what the official rule was. In the first scenario I'm attacking with Odric and the second I'm defending against him.

Scenario 1 (Two Player game):

P1: Attacks with Odric and 3x weenie's (1/1)
P2: Defends with 1 x Wall (0/5),   A Big Nasty (6/6), and a weenie (1/1)

Question 1: Can P1 have P2's wall and weenie block the big nasty thus causing all P2's defnders to die?

Scenario 2 (Four Player Game):

P1: Attacks with Odric and 10x weenie's (1/1) and splits attack between other players.
P2: Whatever,who cares
P3: Whatever,who cares
P4: Whatever,who cares

Question 2: P1 have P2, P3, and P4 defenders block each other while P1 just walks in and does mass damage during the chaos?
Question 3: P4 casts Crib Swap on Odric making him a 1/1 nothing, after attack has been declared, but before defenders have been declared. Does Odric's ability still happen?

You can only block an attacking creature, if that's what you're asking.

Odric's ability has triggered, and independent of its source. It still occurs. I don't know what you're asking in the other question.

No he doesn't. P1 chooses P2's blockers, not P2.

No, that's not a legal block. The only thing that's change is who declares the blockers.

No, that's not a legal block. The only thing that's change is who declares the blockers. You could simply have them not block.

Crib Swap does no such thing.

It's already on the stack before anyone has a chance to cast spells in the Declare Attackers step, so I presume Crib Swap is being in response to Odric's ability? It will resolve first, then Odric's ability will proceed to resolve even though Odric is no longer exists.

1) You can't block anything that isn't attacking.  Odric doesn't allow you to just have your opponent hit himself.  So no, that's not a legal block.

2) No, again look at the first answer.  You could, however, simply have them not block.

3) It doesn't make him a 1/1 nothing, it gives you a 1/1 token and removes your odric from the game.  Removing a card from the field doesn't counter it's effect.  Once it's effect goes off it will resolve unless something prevents it from doing so.  I see no such quarrel in this instance.

OK I get it now. Thanks for clearing that up so I can rub this in someones face, but that brings up another question. Say I declare all my opponent creatures don't block, they stay untapped right?
Flag will_dice December 28, 2012 9:12 AM PST

Why would they ever become tapped in the first place? Blocking doesn't tap.

Yes, the attacked player's  creatures stay untapped - blockers and not blockers alike.

You don't tap to block anyway.  But assuming they were untapped from the begining, yes.

Flag Kenjiblade December 28, 2012 9:13 AM PST
Blocking doesn't cause a creature to tap, so they remain untapped whether they're blocking or not.

Depends, what was causing them to tap?  Blocking, or not blocking, doesn't cause a creature to tap without additional cards/effects.
