This deck was a definite rush job.  I liked Grimgrin since he was first spoiled, and knew zombie tribal was the way to go.  I had most of the deck planned out with obvious choices like Death Baron , Army of the Damned and Zombie Apocalypse .  I then scoured my collection for things to throw in it, which is why odd/subpar stuff like Library of Lat-Nam , Mistform Skyreaver , and Essence Vortex made their way into the deck.  Oddly enough, the deck has performed pretty well so far.  I mean, see for yourself; the deck has no right to do so well, but it does.

Also, I don't own a Lord of the Undead yet, so don't suggest it.  All other constructive suggestions are welcomed.  Please note that I'll be making room for Oversold Cemetery and Sheoldred, Whispering One soon.  I do need more recursion.

I feel like maybe Archdemon of Unx belongs here.
What most definitely belongs here are Geth, Lord of the Vault and his pal Lich Lord of Unx .

Regarding recursion, you could replace your Dimir Signet with Vessel of Endless Rest and one of your two counterspells with Put Away . It's weak recursion, but you still get your ramp and counter so it's like you didn't really remove any cards to add the recursion.

I'd also look into maybe switching out Diabolic Tutor for Rune-Scarred Demon . You have creature recursion, so you could tutor, sac the demon to Grimgrin, then pull the demon from your graveyard to tutor again. This would be especially true if you added Sheoldred like you are already planning.

The Mistform Skyreaver doesn't seem to be doing anything productive.  Unless I'm missing something?

It enables gravecrawler...

Also, no bloodghast?
When playing Commander, before you add a card to your deck, you have to ask yourself:
"Is this card better than Rings ?"
If you play commander and don't have your deck[s] in the Decklist Compendium, maybe you should. Or if you're new or looking into the format, the compendium has some good advice for beginners as well as decklists.

I am surprised it does well, since you mentioned the deck surprisingly does well.

I have a few elmination suggestions:
Cadaverous Knight
Havengul Runebinder
Highborn Ghoul
Mistform Skyreaver
Skaab Goliath
Skaab Ruinator
Jace’s Ingenuity
Latnam’s Legacy
Arcane Denial
Essence Vortex
Devastation Tide

Your mana base lacks utility.  I would suggest the following for starters:

Volrath’s Stonghold
Winding Canyons
Unholy Grotto
Cabal Coffers

This way you have options een if you do not have the bets cards

Along with those cards, I feel like many creatures do little to whatever you stragety is based upon reviewing your creature list, which I do not grasp.

Gempalm Polluter
Shepherd of the Rot
Boneknitter
Fleshbag Marauder
Havengul Lich
Dranul, Lich Lord
Balthor, the Defiled
Graveborn Muse
Carin Wanderer
Wonder
Solemn Simulacrum
Phantasmal Image
Phyrexian Metamorph
Consecrated Sphinx

I know Graveborn Muse can kill you, but I believe in, "As long as I have 1 life, 1 card in the library and 14 poison counters, I can win."

You're missing some important enchantments and artifacts such as...

Phyrexian Arena
Intruder Alarm
Underworld Connections
Grave Betrayal

Skullclamp
Lightning Greaves
Eldrazi Monument
Akroma's Memorial
Nim Deathmantle
Coalition Relic
Gauntlet of Power
Caged Sun
Sensei's Divining Top

Lastly, I have a few Blue and Black Instant and Sorcery ideas. The last one is the funny one with

Rite of Replication
Time Warp
Time Stretch
Counterspell
Undermine
Beacon of Unrest
Rise from the Grave
Reanimate
Patriarch's Bidding
Living Death
Corrupt
Tendrils of Corruption
Damnation
Black Sun Zenith
Murder
Doom Blade
Go for Throat
Ashes to Ashes
Morality Shift

Planeswalker. Well, Sorin is more of a power drop instead of going with the theme.

Sorin Markov
Liliana Vess

After a game with 11 Blightsteels in play, my play group now uses 15 poison counters instead of 10.
