The terms dies...when someone sacrifices their own creatures do they die? How about exiles or remove from game do those cards also die? Looking for a bit of clarification on creatures that power up when another creature dies.

700.6. The term dies means “is put into a graveyard from the battlefield.” It is used only when referring
to creatures.

That should be all the clarification you need.  A creature dies if it was put into a graveyard from the battlefield for any reason.  A creature did not die if it was exiled or put in any zone other than the graveyard from the battlefield.

A creature that is exiled will not trigger abilities that look for a creature dying.

Die means for a creature to move from the Battlefield to the Graveyard, it doesn't matter why the creature is changing zones.

If the creature is exiled, it moves to the Exile zone.  Since it's not going from Battlefield to Graveyard, the creature did not die.

I thought that dies used to mean that it received lethal damage or was destroyed. So dies means when it goes from battlefield into graveyard in any way?

Correct. There are only so many ways for this to happen. It can be destroyed (as a result of lethal damage, or otherwise), sacrificed, or from having 0 toughness when state based actions are checked.

Edit: Had a feeling I missed one! Thanks, Wahooney.

It used to have no meaning whatsoever under the rules.

No, I am not a judge.  That's why I like to quote sources such as the rules that trump judges.

Do tokens die then seeing as they don't go to the graveyard?
