Some people got votes on technicalities like "I joined in 1999 but I didn't really post until this year!"
Hey, I like my 2-3 votes! ô.Ô If you don't believe me that I'm a newcomer, then check out my low post count.. Other people that were nominated for "best newcomer" had almost twice as much posts: But seriously, I told people that I don't consider myself a newcomer and I definitely won't receive enough votes anyway.. One person that I like really much nominated me as "most creative mind" and that's enough for me! 
For the record, I said that was fine because it's all about opinions and heroes. I have an insanely low thread count, too.
