Yeah, see the 2014 deck request thread. Not only are people pumping out custom decks, but in proving Mega's point, they're either using cards in ways you wouldn't expect or combining cards you haven't thought of or making decks that in full custom would get roflstomped but are actually viable in DotP. Consider a deck like Dark Heavens: miserable in real world 60 card piles but a fan favourite in 2012. Heck, that spider tribal control pile I put together would be a sad joke in the real world, but for DotP it's just fine.

I would pay 60$ for that option to use any card available in DOTP 2013 to build my own takes. Ye, I am very serious. This would take this game to another lvl.
Of course you would. You would buy that instead of Magic: Online which costs more. That's why it won't happen ever.
I get that you're just ribbing, but the point that there is an intermediary market still stands. I don't have the time/money to invest in MtGO, but I would certainly like the option of something a bit more substantial and robust than DotP; and I've only been playing this game for 6 months.
Actually, not exactly ribbing.
It would really depend on how DotP is doing and how it would continue to do if there were a bigger version of it that almost is MtGO but not quite. I doubt it would be worth it. They WANT you playing MtGO. Giving you another game to play instead isn't in their best interests even if there's a market for it. It's still a product with a cap on it's cost. They don't want you to buy one thing and stop, they want you to keep buying and buying. Playing to an intermediary market works against that.
