in case anyone isn't clear on this, slaughter games is pretty insane against most decks which lean on sphinx's revelation. i think i've lost 1 match ever using jund to beat a bant control deck (we're talking dozens and dozens of matchs). slaughter games hitting revelation and then thragtusk.... not much they can do except hope they draw answers to my threats and try and race me via mill.

Now try that against Esper. Just watched two of my friends (Jund V. Esper) play 8 matches in a row, sideboarding for 5 of them. Esper lost 0, even through two Slaughter Games

Which type of Bant lists were you playing against? Amass vs Jace among the other weird splits makes a world of difference. I dislike the one played by Turtenwald and Hetrick, but Reid's is much smoother. I've also seen lists that run 2 or 3 Revelations simply because every Rev after the first is usually winmore.
Don't you think it's possible that Bant becoming popular also results in a large number of players trying to steamroll with the deck because they haven't figured out how to operate it yet?

Multiple revs is win-more, but you pretty much have to see one in a lot of matchups

Bant has been good for several years now, it's just what happens when you combine the completely-unfair value of U/W with the creature-efficiency of G.

I have to disagree. Bant is pretty insane right now. Atleast in my local meta that is. So much control at FNM the last few weeks its unusual to see so much control at FNM. Drownyard won me so many games this past Friday. I also beat aggro with Thragtusk/Restoration Angel EOT. I had someone Slaughter Games my Sphinx's Revelation and Dissipates and they still couldn't win the match.

The insane and unfair things Alchemist Refuge allowed Reid Duke to do to people at the SCG Invitational in LA is what begs to differ. Refuge is retarded awesome. Gives UW Control the one thing they normally cant do. EOT everything that matters is soooo good.
