Has anyone else seen this? He claimed that you get it for being in the top 50 - it sounded like bull, so I've taken screenshots in case nobody believes me?
He lost by the way, as everyone ganged up on him but it was close.

I've come across this once, and yes it means they've hacked the game files to be able to use it. Amazed they're able to use it online though.

I read that as "deck" the first time. "Desk" sounds like an interesting artifact, Though.

That is because Nicol Bolas' deck exist as a locked user-playable deck in the game.
No, it's because the cards exist in the game. They port those cards and their file descriptions into another deck, replacing the cards that are in it. So when their game loads up the deck they've replaced then it actually loads Nicol's deck.
Chancellor of the Spires  is one of the worst cards in the deck. With only two of them, you are almost never going to get one in your starting hand. If you do get it in your starting hand, it will just sit there. AFAIK, this won't work for online play. The game will out-of-sync if there are any discrepancies in the decks.
If this works, hackers will just create a deck that combines the best cards from all the decks, or run with 4 copies of the best cards.
Nicol Bolas' deck is currently locked away similiar to the expansion/deck packs for someone who never bought them. People just hack the game files to unlock it.

Doesn't surprise me Nicol Bolas has a desk. It must be one made from mahogany from the planet of Melchior 7.
Anyway, I've never seen it, but I just tried it (I have set both Nicol Bolas's decks as available on my game since the beginning by just changing never_available="true" to always_available="true" in the deckfiles): I couldn't get online with either one of them. So, no idea how they do it.
