-When a mythic never ever ever sees competitive play and never drops below $15 purely because casuals realise the card is bonkers (Obliterator, Thundermaw).
-When that mythic starts seeing play because pros realise the card is bonkers.
-When one of those mythics doubles in price the moment I trade it away
-When a pretty good but not stellar rare goes from $1 to $10 overnight because it starts showing up in top 8 lists (Hellrider)
-Assigning an MSRP to super-duper limited run products
-Limited print run of staple products that will be bid up to three times MSRP (Modern Masters)

How limited will modern masters be? I don't think it will be going for 3x MSRP until it's no longer in print (then again I'm no expert on the secondary market).

Honestly, it shouldn't be significantly above MSRP (if at all), but when money cards are involved, I've come to expect the absolute worst. To everyone who will inevitably tell me I'm overreacting and that there will be enough; I goddamn hope so.

Oh! I have another!

-When I finally find a really good deck and it gets invalidated by a nearly-identical version that costs $100 more.

Stop trying to play competitive decks with budget builds if you dont like losing. Really, get over it. Part of magic is being a good player and another part is being a good deck builder. And guess what, there is another part where you need to own the cards too. Stop crying that it's "unfair". It's a hobby game and you have to pay money if you want to get the cards.

I really hope there is enough Modern Masters to go round because I look forward to drafting it at FNM.  If it follows the same trend as From the Vault to Commander's Arsenal it may be enough to put me off all together.

Cheers

Oh wow, suddenly my as-budget-as-it-gets deck is actual money. Gonna consider pawning it off.

Not a bad idea, Wahoo. The low on TCG/cards.info is 8, 9 isn't unreasonable (though FAR higher than I value the card).

Yeah, there is a real market for magic cards. Not like the good old days when you could get strong standard cards cheap. Wait, when was that?

stop crying.
