Not to mention that Thragtusk is starting to see less and less play due to the fact that these decks have found ways to invalidate it, such as the aforementioned Hellkite and Aristocrat.

I always feel like most TCG players never really explore the possibilities of cards. They just know the good ones the pros use and ignore or aren't even aware of the existance of other seldom used cards until either A. a pro player begins using them or B. Some article writer begins mentioning them, even though they might actually be worth a try.
Are there any cards people here can think of that they feel deserve a look at and have potential? Things that the general meta might have simply missed?
Some very big assumptions. Trust me, I've tried a number of things that you wouldn't consider "good" to see how good they are. The only card that I think people have looked over more than they should is Sphere of Safety. Not much else off the top of my head, though I'm sure I could find something. And maybe some sort of Bant build should be seeing play. What Wyn just said. There are cards that are situationally good and people exaggerate the frequency of those circumstances.
"Dude Mizzium Skin I'm telling you. They try to remove your dude? BAM! Mizzium. OHHHH you gonna Bonfire for 2 on my Geist of Saint Traft? BAM! HA! Don't let this nice vest fool you. Mizzium."
They don't talk about.
"I needed to get out of this damnable mess. I dropped a Augur of Bolas to dig for Azorius Charm or something. Than damn, Mizzium Skin."
Well actually, you get Mizzium Skin stories in Modern, but they're kinda boring. "Yeah, went to combo off and my opp tried to abrubt decay my dude, and I cast Mizzium Skin and won that turn anyway." Also, if you are using GoST and Mizzium Skin in the same deck, I think you are doing it wrong.

Cards I like that I'm not currently playing, but really want to, Feed the Pack + Tree of Redemption - Especially in this world of lifegain, I don't know why I'm not going over the top with Tree of Redemption + Rhox Faithmender . Gutter Grime - I know this makes me a "bad Player", but I really love this card. I just wish it works well with Slime Molding . Mentor of the Meek There is an exalted deck that really wants one or two this card. Liliana of the Dark Realms I can't help but think she should be really good in a MBC deck. I just don't have the guts to build it. Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius - Not playing because I can't find the right deck for it, and it disappoints me because I keep imagining Niv Mizzet sounding like Wile E. Coyote. Guild Feud - Not because it's bad. It really isn't! I just haven't found the right balance of creatures yet. Wild Beastmaster + Hamlet Captain - Still contemplating how to make this deck roll. It has the potential for massive damage output, but it's a tad slow in setup.

I fail to see the synergy.

Yes. Exactly. It has no synergy. That's why I wish it works well, not that it *did* work well.

I was thinking of several cards very few people seemed to give any mention outside of draft until recently. Such as Pyreheart Wolf or Archwing Dragon

I saw a RDW deck this week that used pyreheart wolf it did pretty well, especially when it was mixed with hellrider , they just swing constantly with the wolf and he just keeps coming back to life its a real pain to block against.

I personally am not a fan of the Wolf, but others are. It has a home in mono-red. The issue with Archwing is that he requires 4 mana for the rest of the game, and in an aggro deck that pretty much means "all your mana forever." Like, as a 1 or 2-of it doesn't seem too bad, but I just like Hellrider more.

This. Good cards without support. flinthoof boar is another.
don't worry. Bacon.dec will be a thing as soon as gatecrash lands. We just need this guy:
Digging Pig 3 Creature - boar 3/3
When Digging Pig enters the battlefield, search your library for 2 target boars with converted mana cost 3 or less and put them into your hand. Shuffle your library afterwards.
Next thing you will tell me Browbeat is bad.
