I second
Gatekeeper of Malakir
if your playing
Dark Ritual
. Turn 1 kicked Gatekeeper is nasty if you're playing 2nd.
Liliana Vess
can work wonders for
Vampire Nocturnus
. Top card on deck not black? Use Lili's 2nd and MAKE it black (like another Nocturnus

).
Sign in Blood
is almost an auto include. A
Necropotence
or 2 if your table allows it. Necro can also help with stacking the top card for Nocturnus. I've found the life gained with the Nighthawks gives you what you need to fuel Necro.
I've found that 2 cards in particular can allow you to play your deck in a very aggro fashion, and still be able to evolve into something more midrange capable when you run up against decks that you can't power through in 5ish turns.
Bloodline Keeper
/
Lord of Lineage
and
Guul Draz Assassin
. Bloodline will pump out more creatures and make them bigger, and is also great for using
Malakir Bloodwitch
as a finisher.
Guul Draz Assassin
can play as a simple 1-drop, or if the game goes longer, can grow into some possible removal, and a pretty large body in and of itself.
Speaking of
Malakir Bloodwitch
, yes, it's an awesome finisher. If you have them, add
Mutavault
s. They can pump the Bloodwitch's count, and can also help with meeting the 2 vampire condition of
Feast of Blood
.
Also, it's too easy nowadays to splash red in a vamp deck.
Stromkirk Captain
is better than
Captivating Vampire
, and first strike Nighthawks ROCK. Just don't go nuts with the red. My best vamp list for 1-on-1 splashes red, and the only cards I'm running with red are the Captain,
Terminate
, and
Dreadbore
. This makes sure that all non-land cards are black to meet Nocturnus' condition. I run no artifacts for that reason as well.
Another underrated finisher, IMO, is
Sanguine Bond
. every bit of life you gain deals damage to opponent, and lets you cap the game with
Malakir Bloodwitch
much earlier. Tough card to find room for though, and quite often doesn't last very long. But if you time it well, it can end a game a couple of turns early.
