No, that is the wrong aplication of this card. It's good against control decks and that's it.

Well, I guess my evaluation of the card is meta dependant. I haven't been seeing a lot of control. I'll probably board one in the next few weeks to test.

This would have been better when control was around. Just wait, the meta will continue to shift to allow control to be a deck again.

This card is interchangable with cards like psychic spiral and sands of delirium. However, I've seen a lot of things about this meta that if you're a control deck you need to have all of your tech against control main deck. So, I'm not even sure this card is that relevant.

Curse of Echoes is awesome when you team it up with Curse of Thirst and Curse of Misfortunes.

I wish I could frustratingly Curse of Death's Hold and Jace +1 everyone into "go to turns" frustration. Of course, I get girlly slapped to death by zombies and Falkenraths before that sorta magic happens.

Totally need MOAR Fog 13!  Undecided

Seems like you would need some luck on your side to make this actually count, but it would certainly drop some monocles.

I like Echoes, but what makes it good isn't the sillyness involved in making your opponent's counterspells or discard bad. It's the idea that every free spell you get from the Curse sitting there is just that- a free spell. In value wars this is sweet because it deadens much of your opponent's hand, or they have to give you symmetrical value up until the point where they can deal with the curse.

Hope you get lucky with Terminus on turns 2-3, save your Ultimate Price for Thundermaw Hellkite, Ghost Quarter their Cavern so you can actually counter **** ( and possibly put them off T3 Geralf's Messenger)

But yeah, in the small number of BR matchups I've played with the deck, it hasn't been pretty. Especially since I moved towards game winning fatties more than Enchantments (which I think was wrong). Deck trounces on GW and Midrange stuff. Rites can be tricky, but not unwinaable at all.

Done it before, multiple times. Though it wasn't with Curse of Echoes. Just Misfortunes, Death's Hold, and Thirst. But I run Safety Sphere in that deck, so its ok.

@Jman - Yeah but we aren't talking about some crazy curse brew, we're talking about Echoes as a total one off.

You're still a hero though. I love those crazy cycles you get every now and then. let me count the ways...

Its actually easier than you would think to stick a curse in the control mirror.
