Trample implies a very large creature.  I designed a couple of mechanic that plays into that flavorfully as well since I was tired to always having to use Trample as my only real option.  The idea is the creature is so big it doesn't even notice tiny creatures swatting at it.

Colossal X (If this creature would be dealt X damage or less from a single source, prevent it.)

Hugemongous Fungus
Creature - Elemental
Colossal 2 (If this creature would be dealt 3 or less damage from a single source, prevent it.)
If damage dealt to Hugemongus Fungus is prevented, create X 1/1 green fungus creature tokens where X is equal to the damage dealt.
6/5

Perfect originality is overrated and often ugly. The best and most beautiful cards I've ever seen were clearly inspired by something else.

Cards are not entirely unlike living organisms in this regard. All the good ones are a result of long evolution; the 'original' ones are either monocellular or mutant aberrations.

I think Callous Giant was what you're looking for.

"prevent" keeps pointless aguments about negative damage from cropping up over "reduce" the damage

No, I'm pretty sure the card I linked was exactly what I was looking for. Not worded the same, but has pretty much the same outcome, and works better in my opinion. Colossal is a worse version of Absorb.

You really shouldn't comment on things when you don't know what you're talking about. Just saying. ("reduce" was never mentioned in my post, or the card I linked)

Man and here I thought I was doing something at least reasonably original.
