Mine came as a kit for $1400 from Makerbot a couple years back. They now sell a fully assembled one with twice the print size and better resolution for $2200. I'm thinking of upgrading. www.makerbot.com

the cool thing about Makerbot is that it is self replicating
sadly not all of it yet, but it is still a great concept
