5.0: First pick no matter what. I will always play this card. 4.5: Splashable and first pick worthy. 4.0: First pick pack 1. 3.5: Early pick though not always a first pick. 3.0: Solid early/mid pick. 2.5: Solid pick in color. 2.0: Should generally make the deck if in this color. 1.5: Decent filler. 1.0: 23rd card if you have to. 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. 0.0: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding).
This guy is pretty sweet. Most of the time you'll have some guildgates for him so he can attack but even if he can't he's still a 4/4 defender which is really hard to get through in this set. I mean this guy stops a lot. Rakdos has a hard time getting around him as does Izzet. Golgari doesn't mind to much and neither does Azorius. Selesnya get's stopped for a little bit. Just a very solid card. 2.5-3 Discuss!

This guy is very solid, and I haven't been seeing it nearly as often as I used to. I haven't maindecked it without a gate, but I have maindecked it with only one gate and no Gatecreepers.
I think 2.5-3.0 is right. So few of the creatures in this set fly and so many are in the 3/3 range, a 4/4 defender for 4 that can become a surprise attacker is great.

4/4 is HUGE in this set.
What do you guys think of the concept of playing gates that are only in one of your colors so that this guy can attack? I don't like it, unless you have like 3 of him, because it just seems like that won't come up too often.

I've done it. I generally try to get as many gates as Jailbreakers, and if I can't get that many in double colors I'll take a single color gate and replace a basic land with it.

I've done it with two, but that was the draft that I had ten removal spells and no big guys.

I guess I'm in the minority here...
I use him in certain decks, but often he doesn't fit the themes well for me.
I usually side this guy out of my deck after getting eaten alive by fliers or wishing he could attack.
But 4/4 for four mana is good.
2.0-2.5
bulletd Guidelines: 5.0: I will take this card no matter what. Creature 1 or playable 1 or hate 1. Domri Rade 4.5: Bomb and splashable. Creature 1-2, playable 1-2, removal 1. Obzedat, Ghost Council 4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors. Creatures 1-4, removal 1. Rubblehulk 3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Ground Assault 3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature. Creatures 3-9, removal 1-3. Kingpin's Pet 2.5: Solid pick in-color; creatures 5-12, removal 3-5. Mugging 2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7.
