Check out my buold, should be a few pages back somewhere; it's very effective, though the Slayer is admittedly a pet card and could be replaced. Try it out!

I can one up that. Had a game about two weeks back where I cast the Behemoth, and the guy flashed the counter, but must have realized, and took it back.
Next turn I cast Deus of Calamity... and this time he didn't hold back! Oddly he quit almost immediately after

The other night as four of us were playing this deck I cast Berserk on an opponents Spellbreaker as he was attacking another opponent. Two birds, one stone.

I agree with that - this deck does pretty well against MM. I pulled off a turn 3 win against MM the other day, thanks to the greatest opening hand I've probably ever seen - Tattermunge Maniac, Colossal Might, Berserk, Rancor, 2 forests and a mountain. I was obviously very lucky - but overall I think it takes bad luck for MM to beat this deck - as long as you are very careful about not overextending. It's not as good as DP or GM or MS against MM but it's still pretty good.
had exactly this same hand vs golgari, but didn't go first...won on turn 3 too!
turn 1: maniac turn 2: rancor on maniac, attack for 4 turn 3: colossal might, beserk, attack for 16 = win

I don't run the Runes, but I'm glad they're in the deck, bc other players HAVE to consider that card when allocating their removal. So early creatures might get to stick around longer if they hold off in anticipation of Runes.
At least that's heavily on my mind when I play against BR.
