I thought a selesnya deck was probably the most consistent, as well as being resistent to a fast deck. Also, the cards all seemed to pull in the same direction - hold back the enemy army until your creatures are big enough to overwhelm them.

I think we underestimate the value of keeping to two colors when so many spells are two colors - those splashes can be fatal if you don't have good mana fixing (which we don't). The only card I really wanted to splash was cyclonic rift , but I felt that collective blessing did roughly the same thing (allowing for an alpha swing) a turn earlier and on-color. Against a heavy populate deck I would definitely side in or run an alternate deck (probably Grixis Control*).

There are also times when cards which aren't normally good can perform above expectations ( trained caracal when you have so many power/toughness boosters, soul tithe in multiples and with ethereal armor around) and cards which are generally good can underperform ( chorus of might , which I think has a weak presence when you two giant growths , selesnya charm , common bond  and blessing ).

1 Centaur Healer
1 Concordia Pegasus
1 Keening Apparition
1 Korozda Monitor
1 Rubbleback Rhino
3 Towering Indrik
2 Trained Caracal

1 Coursers' Accord
1 Ethereal Armor
2 Giant Growth
1 Martial Law

1 Trostani's Judgment

Against a slower deck, and probably against a populate deck, I would run Grixis control. Mostly this is to take advantage of the instant speed removal against a populate trigger.

It was a difficult choice but because of the lack of creatures in rakdos, I chose selesnya

I subsequently tried a fast izzet deck.

This is a bit of a unicorn (complete myth!) in that the best it can be is never quite as good as the rakdos version, and frankly this version lacks the two drops. However, as a sealed pool goes, I might be inclined to try it out. Even with the yukky racketeers, the ability for this deck to dynacharge for the win on turn 5 is too tempting not to try it out. Also, thanks to the mages, this deck does have a semi-decent mid to late game.

Went for a selesnya build, even if its not that great when you look at it but it seemed like the best option to me.

Very complicated pool, straight Izzet is the only option I see.   Dig through library, never miss a land drop, play more cards than the opponent, counter a couple of spells on the way.  If still alive past turn 6, start copying spells.  If they're mana-flooded or mana-screwed, pursuit of flight ends games right there.  Annihilating Fire and Vassal Soul in the same deck, can't possibly splash other colours.

Probably the best deck is Selesnya splash black but I can't make it work.

I was trying for something to take advantage of Death's Presence. I have very little deck building experience. I think I'm going to run into a problem where I can't get the Enchantment out in time to really make the concept click.

I try to build a solid deck with cheap spell to little control the board and some evasion creature... extra drawing assured by guild mages and some 5/4 with haste that never hurt (me at least =P ). Possible, even not so cheap, combing mage and nivmagus, copying and exiling. A lot of drop 1 to be fast and try to get the initiative.

Those are cliché stereotype names people made up. There is nothing fully credible about them. It's the same thing people just start calling three color combos by the Shards of Alara names. That's proper either. Invasion was here long before, why not name them after Invasion color combos, after all that set has seniority. And if you really want to get technical, the Elder dragons were the very first to host the three-color combos. Why not name decks of three colors after them?

Any questions?

Cliche name= common name
I'm not the one who came up with the name. I just use it. If you really plan on arguing with everyone who calls their blue white red deck "American" I'm pretty sure you'll lose that argument. Good luck!
P.S. troll??
