Ok, been a while since I've played and I want to make sure I did this right. During a game an opponent attacked me with 16 6/6 wurm tokens with
Knighthood
out on his side for a total of 96 firststrike damage. I was at 40 life. I blocked with a
Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter
and 5 4/4 Vamp tokens (buffed by a tapped
Lord of Lineage
), and sacked the vamp tokens to Vish Kal making him a 27/27 lifelinker (I had forgotten about the firststrike at the time). In an ideal world, (one w/o firststrike), this would have left me at 7 life and set up to swing for the win next turn, but realizing he had
Knighthood
on the table, I conceeded. My opponent was aghast by my concession, and I told him that his first strike damage would resolve before my lifelink would, putting me below 0 life and dead. He insisted I had the win, but I'm pretty sure I was right in this case. Was I? It has been a while, but I am sure I remember that first strike resolves before any other combat damage.
EDIT: I do realize I could have survived at 5 life by sacking my guys 1 by 1 to Vish Kal to give his creatures an additional -25/-25 total but I was still going to loose on the next turn.
