I love goblins so I tried making a goblin deck with some my cards. I would like to play this casual at fnm (not tournaments, because it is not standard legal) and I would like to make it better. Any suggestions? CREATURES: 4 x Goblin Wardriver 2 x Goblin Arsonist 3 x Boris Recruit 2 x Siege-Gang Commander 2 x Goblin King 1 x Skirk Fire Marshal 1 x Rockslide Elemental SPELLS: 4 x Kuldotha Rebirth 4 x Rally the Forces 3 x Empty the Warrens 2 x Mob Justice 4 x Lightning Bolt 1 x Giantbaiting 1 x Elemental Appeal ARTIFACTS: 4 x Pyrite Spellbomb 3 x Shield Sphere LAND: 23 x Mountain So I would appreciate if you guys had suggestions on what to add or take out. I am on a limited budget. Thanks.

Well, the bad news is that the only goblin on that list that is standard legal is Goblin Arsonist . There's really isn't any good news as goblins are kind of at a low point right now in Standard.

Here's a quick suggestion for a goblin build: Creatures: 4 x Goblin Arsonist 4 x Mogg Flunkies 4 x Guttersnipe 4 x Krenko, Mob Boss Spells: 4 x Pillar of Flame 4 x Dynacharge 4 x Krenko's Command 4 x Annihilating Fire 4 x Goblin Rally 2 x Thunderous Wrath Land: 22 x Mountain Krenko is the only "money card" on this list at $2.50 a piece. Everything else is cheap junk.

Thanks for the information, guess ill have to completely change the deck if I want to play in a tournament. Umm, for casual play at a local store do the cards have to be standard legal or modern? I think most of the cards here are modern (correct me if im wrong).
Thanks for the suggestion also, though that would be a lot of cards to accquire. If I wanted to play the casual deck playing ( not tournaments) at friday night magic would I have to change the cards?

For Casual play, just about anything goes. For tournament settings like FNM, your deck must either be Standard or Modern Legal depending on what kind of FNM event your store is running. Right now, your current goblin deck is neither.
Also, I just priced that deck I tossed up there on Star City Games. You can buy the whole thing (minus land) for under $25.

Thanks, to make it modern legal, I looked up the cards I don't are allowed and I would have to take out
Skirk clan fire marshal, shield sphere, rockslide elemental, and mob justice.
And thanks for the pricing, Christmas is coming up and I could purchase some cards. Which online store would you reccommend buying cards from?

I buy my online stuff from Star City Games. They're not the cheapest site out there, but their service is decent and their prices are fair enough. Plus they have a pretty large following in the Magic gaming community at large so they are about as trustworthy as they come. I've also bought stuff from Troll and Toad before. EDIT: Honestly, if you took that list into your local card store, they could probably fill it easily enough for about that price and it would save you the shipping costs.

SCG is cool, only bought from them once, but I had my cards in like 3 days...
Most online stuff I buy lately has been from coolstuffinc .com. I bought a large chunk of cards maybe a year ago, put the whole list in 4 or 5 diff websites, and coolstuff had the best price overall. All the major sites are gonna be about the same. No one makes it to being a major site w/o good service and price.

It'll be somewhat quick, but not infallible. If you have them, swap 4 mountains for 4 Great Furnace s to help with the Rebirths. It needs Goblin Grenade s, and maybe a couple of Goblin War Strike s. I'd ditch the Skirk, Rockslide, Giantbaiting, and Elemental for 4 Grenades and give it a go. There's other stuff, but I don't want to gut your deck and make it a copy of every other goblin deck in town. Take a look through the first few pages of threads in this forum (if you haven't already) and you'll find a bunch of goblin threads, they'll help you out too.
