I was originally planning on base Selesnya splashing blue, but after mulling it over I decided to splash for red instead. The deck is essentially a super-aggresive one which throws lots of creatures on the battlefield (Seller of Songbirds, populaters, cheap creatures) and uses them to smash over opponents (Wayfaring Temple, Dynacharge, Call of the Conclave). The deck has reach (Golgari Decoy, Explosive Impact), as well as creature pump to prevent the opponent from stabilising (double Pursuit of Flight, Ethereal Armor, Knightly Valor, Common Bond). This Deck was built in 0:43:56 Total Deck Size: 40 17 Lands --------------- 4 Forest 3 Mountain 7 Plains 1 Izzet Guildgate 1 Selesnya Guildgate 1 Transguild Promenade 10 Creatures --------------- 1 Azorius Arrester 1 Azorius Justiciar 1 Golgari Decoy 1 Gore-House Chainwalker 1 Keening Apparition 1 Selesnya Sentry 2 Seller of Songbirds 1 Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage 1 Wayfaring Temple 13 Other Spells --------------- 1 Arrest 1 Call of the Conclave 1 Chorus of Might 1 Common Bond 1 Dynacharge 1 Ethereal Armor 1 Explosive Impact 1 Knightly Valor 2 Pursuit of Flight 1 Rootborn Defenses 1 Selesnya Charm 1 Street Spasm

This one seemed fairly straightforward. There was a lot of playable white, a blue bomb, and sufficient blue or blue/white support cards to make a perfectly viable deck.
However, after assembling the most obvious version of an Azorius deck from the build, I started having second thoughts. The build had a fair number of flyers to go over the top, and a couple of heavy hitters at six mana, but didn't have a great defensive plan to stall the ground.
After some consideration, I splashed a bit of green to support Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage. With her online, I can populate to keep up a stream of Birds from Seller of Songbirds or Eyes in the Sky, or create a bunch of Knights from Knightly Valor, to clog up the board while my flyers peck away at my opponent's life total.
Normally I'm really not a fan of playing more than two colors, but I think that the green splash for the Guildmage helps shore up a potential weakness the deck has. Plus, VG Guildmage can win games by herself, so if it doesn't hurt my manabase too badly, why not include her?

So I know it took 53 minutes, but I walked away for a while. And I know it looks like I'm splashing two colors, but I really only had to splash one. The deck is essentially GW Populate with a splash of Red for removal (Street Spasm and Explosive Impact can handle virtually any threat) direct damage for the mirror match (Lobber Crew, Guttersnipe and Explosive Impact) and game ending threats (Dynacharge and Overloaded Street Spasm). Now, I would have main decked two mountains for so many red sources anyway, but I realized that, while decking the Izzet Guildgate would slow me down a little, I only have six drops before 3 mana anyway, and the constellation of the Guildgate, the Promenade, and the Keyrune positioned me to splash for Supreme Verdict with no impact on my mana base, and allowed me to more frequently turn on the Keyrune. This deck is heavily reliant on the interaction between token generators and populate, and it also takes advantage of the synergy between the 7 multicolored spells and Lobber Crew, and between the 9 instants and sorceries and Guttersnipe.
Wouldn't it be fun to cast Rootborn Defenses and Supreme Verdict in the same turn?

Looks fairly straight forward. Biggest choices come in picking 22-23 cards. I could see cutting the arrester in favor of something a little less aggressive but you really have to play both guildmages in this pool. Didn't want to play the promenade for fear that it would be awkward to play on turn 2 through 4 (or 5). Total Deck Size: 4017 Lands --------------- 5 Forest 5 Island 6 Plains 1 Selesnya Guildgate 14 Creatures --------------- 1 Azorius Arrester 1 Azorius Justiciar 1 Centaur's Herald 2 Hussar Patrol 1 Lyev Skyknight 1 New Prahv Guildmage 2 Seller of Songbirds 1 Skymark Roc 1 Sphinx of the Chimes 1 Tower Drake 1 Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage 1 Wayfaring Temple 9 Other Spells --------------- 1 Arrest 1 Call of the Conclave 1 Eyes in the Skies 1 Knightly Valor 1 Rootborn Defenses 1 Selesnya Charm 1 Supreme Verdict 2 Trostani's Judgment
