I saw today that Ghost Quarter combos with Darksteel Citadel , but does it matter?

I wonder how much could be realized out of this. Obviously really neat if you're using nothing but nonbasics. It turns Ghost Quater into a free fetchland. Yet it's only a basic land and seems to be going out of the way. Makes me wonder why they didn't enable Ghost Quarter to fetch nonbasics, but that fact itself could be dark foreshadowing of a card yet to come.

Because letting Ghost Quarter fetch nonbasic would completely defeat its purpose? The primary use is to blow up nonbasics from your opponent, you know.

BECAUSE WHO WOULD EVER WANT A BASIC LAND? **** BASIC LAND.

Fun fact: Basic land are actually bad as ****. With the prominence of Wasteland, the relevance is enormous. Not to mention the constant threat of Moon effects or Back to Basics in every-ish format.

But, yeah, if you could dig for non-basics with Ghost Quarter, its usage would be nil on the basis that they're typically the ones you're trying to blow up.

I've had a lot of people try that one on me, it never works.

Yes, of course. I made a flesh effigy of you, out of my now dead cat. Every time you post, I destroy a print of it into a pool of acid, before adding a fraction of it to a syringe that I use to inject the content of it into the voodoo doll's representation of your brain.

True. It would be pretty much exactly the same as Evolving Wilds as it is if paired with Darksteel Citadel . Pop two lands: Fetch a nonbasic land? I'm sure I can break that. I'd say I can .

As an aside, I had fun at the ISD prerelease. This dude tried to destroy my plains with his Ghost Quarter. Then he was surprised when I started fetching a land. Yeah, you have land destruction for a tap that doubles as an Evolving Wilds each time you do it? Sure.
