Guildpact Returns

Enchantment
All permanents have protection from permanents that don't share a color with them.
If no combat occurred this turn, all players gain 2 life.
As this card enters play, detain all colourless non-land permanents.

not sure if this works as worded, but fine.
White is allowed protection from stuff, and blue is allowed protection from weird stuff.

No. Lifegain is not blue and does not belong on a card that can be cast with only blue mana.

Detain all colorless permanents.

If you play this on your second main phase, this is akin to a time walk against a lot of decks.
Wow, I'm brainfarting today.
Anywho, this doesn't work as written, it needs to be timed somehow.
"When this enters the battlefield"
 "When you cast"
"At the beginning of your upkeep"

I'm guessing you're forgetting that lands are colourless permanents?

I would add something on, like "if there has been no combat stage for the last five turn, sacrifise ~

Thanks.

I've fixed the mana and timing.

I was intending to include land, but It's going to be more trouble that it's worth and even if it does work I'm now not sure it's a good idea, besides many players don't know land is colourless and this card is probably tricky enough already, see also the other thread to discussion on detaining land. So I've made it for non-land permanents instead.

What exactly does mixing and accomplish?

I'm undecided on something like "If no combat has occurred for the last five turns, sacrifise ~.". I'd include some means of counting, such as counters.

It seems blue and well as a white, or at least very much not red, green or black, so it shouldn't be as splashable in those colors. It also need not require use of a blue mana, as it would if it were .

I originally had it being but you said a card that can be cast with just blue shouldn't have lifegain, although I should think some colorless cards that therefore can be cast with all blue include lifegain.

Another alternative is , however I like .

A lot of players haven't figured out hybrid. I don't even think WotC knew how hybrid worked, judging by some Shadowmoor cards. Basically, when you make a hybrid, such as Plumeveil , you're giving it to any deck with white or blue in it. On the other hand, Galina's Knight is available to any deck with white and blue in it.

Consider to be missing the point of hybrid. Flying is a good ability (or really a good ability), but lifelink would be . But really has yet to be seen. And...my personal sense of aesthetics doesn't like "white as main, blue as ally, black as enemy?"
