with cipher being spoiled, how much do you wanna bet the dimir keyrune will be a 2/1 unblockable? (or something that's unblockable)

That's pretty greedy. 1/2 Unblockable is more likely, but will likely result in some sort of BUG combo deck with Wild Defiance , Stalkers, Keyrunes, Ciphers and pumps.

a blue/green lifelink? not entirely likely...simic isn't focused on health at all. but the other ones mentioned seem like a good fit

They're physicians (though Momir Vig reminds me more of a "medical anthropologist" I know of who isn't a physician peddling woo in sub-Saharan Africa, because they're also transhumanists), but in general, stuff like Whitesun's Passage or Favor of the Woods is a nice placebo.

Of course, the actual solution to your low life total (removal) is also outside of Simic's reach.

Not if they have a modular card that says "Choose one — Target creature gains flying until end of turn; and/or destroy target creature with flying". Simic also has access to artifact and enchantment destruction.

Green doesn't get lifelink in order to better separate it from white, but since it does get healing, Simic could get a G/U variant of cards like Bountiful Harvest or Nourish . "You gain 1 life for each +1/+1 counter among permanents you control"? Or how about a card that says "Choose one — You gain 3 life; or put three +1/+1 counters on target creature you control".

i was only saying life gain isn't very blue at all, and a keyrune's ability or keywords should fit with both of its colors

Whoops, I just realized I mistyped that first modular card. It should say either "Choose one or both" or replace the "and/or" with simply "or". I'd go back and change it, but I've already been quoted and I'm not sure which wording I'd prefer. The latter would probably be better though to make G/U creature removal more expensive.

Doesn't work that way. You have to have both targets (legal targets) when you cast the spell.

Now if it said "destroy target creature if it has flying", yeah, ergo Plummet delenda est.

Also, they don't print cards that let you get around color restrictions on one card. I've played a red/green control deck off Liquimetal Coating , but that doesn't mean I can destroy lands for one mana or put Vindicate on a bear for three mana .

Cute, but you forgot that nobody plays those cards without good reason , so they're probably not going to influence limited, and certainly not Standard.

So, it should be "Choose one or both — Target creature gans flying until end of turn; and/or destroy target creature if it has flying"? I'll keep that wording in mind for the future. You might have a point about bypassing color limitations, but you do have to pay for a higher color weight than if you were casting Doom Blade or Murder . Direct removal doesn't seem like it'll be Simic's thing either way, that's for the other four guilds to handle. But I still like the Naturalize - Annul combo.

Wizards is obliged to make some jank to even out the set, and Nourish in particular is rated well for a vanilla lifegain card, though it helps it was printed alongside a same-color creature that made good use of the lifegain . Actually, there's a very slim chance that could be reprinted, if only slim. Generally reprints stick to commons and uncommons.
