I have a hexproof creature and my husband says that if he played Mindclaw Shaman that he could cast a spell out of my hand and destroy it.. I dont think its right because then he would be controling that spell .. am I wrong? could someone please clear this up for me

How to autocard [card]Mindclaw Shaman[/card] = Mindclaw Shaman  You are correct for the reason you state. The card is owned by you. He controls the spell. Your creature with hexproof can not be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control. Rules Q&A would gain you the fastest response to a rules question.

Unfortunately, VCLs do not currently have the tools necessary to take moderation actions directly. VCLs submit their actions to ORCs, who then actually perform the action. This processing can take between a few minutes and several hours, depending on how busy/attentive the ORCs are. he could of course Redirect  say a Murder  cast by you targeting one of his creatures back at your creature with hexproof
