I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but I wasn't sure of the proper destination for this, if there is one. Anyways, I am thinking of adding a few infect cards to a deck I am speculating, and I'm not sure if there are even any in M13 or Return to Ravnica. Are there any at all? I didn't see any when I looked at the card encyclopedia, but I could be wrong. Could anyone confirm whether there are or not infect cards? I think these will do great at my FNM locally, and I want to try it!

Infect will not return for a few years, if at all
neither M13, nor any of the RTR sets, nor M14 will have it

no Infect cards are currently legal in Standard (which is what is played at FNM)

Infect was a terribly received mechanic and I wouldn't be surprised if it never comes back.

Really? I was fairly ambivelant about it, and I know a lot of posters didn't like it. But the folks on these boards and the guys down at the FLGS are far from the majority of the community.

And polarizing mechanics are good. Wizards would much rather have an ability like Infect or DFCs that's split 40/40/20 between love, hate, and ambivalence than an ability like Fateful Hour or Radiance that nobody cares about. Sure, there are people who enjoy any given ability, but there are quite a few that most people just shrug and move on.

Infect generally causes frothing at the mouth amongst my playgroup. As for my FLGS, I haven't exactly done a poll but I can name more people who hate it or dislike it than actually enjoy it. I initially hated it but have come around to not minding it too much.

Poison is Great, Wither is Great, infect is fine on its own.

Infect + growth effects gives me an irrational bad taste in my mouth. I think Poisonous was the way to go. Or maybe, Infect X (Instead of dealing combat damage to players, this creature gives that player X poison counters)

That makes no sense to me.

If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed?

Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch . YAY COLOR IDENTITY

I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

I just hated infect as a deckbuilder, because it meant if I was not playing infect a large part of cards are cut off from me. As a mechanic I found it limiting in that sense. Radiance was pretty bad, but it wouldn't work against my deck if I used it somewhere else.
