If the recently rotated standard taught us anything, it is that Clone effects are better than we've experienced in our most recent past. Reasons listed below:
Geist of Saint Traft Serenity Angel Sigarda Thragtusk Thalia Restoration Angel and so on.
Granted we were recently spoiled by Phantasmal Image /Phyrexian Metamorph. I don't think sideboarding Clones (or evil twins if in color) is such a stupid decision. Of course, I apply this logic to decks that don't just want to Wrath all day.
Your opinion?

I think it's a cool toy in and against midrange decks if it's in your colours, but kinda dependent on your strategy and other answers against such lists if you want to take them along.
I like playing my clones and then blinking them with Resto in response to such lists later on.

With Caverns coming in now to secure things like Sigarda coming in against RWU. I think Clone isn't horrible. I mean these decks don't typically want to Wrath. I've also come to like the RWU match-up against many of these mid-range decks.

Clone is a great card... very maindeckable.... if it doesn't help you to clone your own guys then it deserves SB slots if you're in blue.
Boasts?

The problem with clone is that instead of spending 2 mana to kill their 3 cmc geist, you're spending 4 mana to kill their 3cmc geist. And half the time it's already gotten a hit in.

It was revealed to me in a dream. All the cards were in my dream except for three slots which I plugged in as Vault Skirge.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The dream was post AVR so there was a copy of Slayer's Stronghold. I decided to keep it pre AVR in my post here.
EDIT: I just remembered. The Skirges might have been 2x Whipflare and 1x something else, probably War and Peace.
EDIT2: Currently 4-0 in my first four games with this. My opponents have been very angry. I fought off a Wurmcoil from Grixis for six turns before I found my second Dispatch. Jeez, I can do a lot of damage.
EDIT3: Streak broken. Lost to an unexpected Overrun. Cracking a Shrine for 10 wasn't enough.

The only ways to remove a Geist for less than 4 mana are Rolling Temblor , Liliana of the Veil , and Tribute to Hunger . Miracled Bonfire and Terminus work, but you can't really plan for them.

That's not the problem. If that was the only use of Clone it would be true but you pay extra to do other things with it.

There's also "playing a 2 power dude"

The power level of those things varies by your deck and your opponent's deck.

I'm just disagreeing with niche's assertion that it deserves SB slots in every blue deck.
