If you splash white... would Frontline Medic be worth looking into as a 3 drop? I know he doesn't have haste, but the indestructable part really helps saves creatures, and the Sacrifice effect is just icing on top.

I'm trying to decide between 4 different options for RDW and was looking on some opinions on which would be best. The options are: #1 Islands' list - very low curve, Tibalts, lots of burn #2 RDW splash white - Basically RDW with Boros Charm and anything else worth splashing for in white. #3 Traditional RDW - Basically just good stuff like ash zealots, hellriders, Boros Reckoner , other creatures, and burn #4 Creature Heavy RDW - Lots of little creatures, stuff like Legion Loyalist , Burning Tree-Emissary , Lightning Mauler, Stromkirk Nobles, Ash Zealots, Gore House Chainwalkers, Rakdos Cacklers along with Dynacharge , Hellrider or battalion effects to win games quickly.
Pretty much depends on your budget.
Splashing white is expensive because you really need your Innistrad and Gatecrash dual lands to make it work. The Borors Guildgates are too slow, and using just a mix of standard lands will hose up RDW.
Creature heavy will require at least the $ cards Ash Zealot and Hellrider , maybe Vexing Devil and Boros Reckoner as well.
Skullcrack is another new Gatecrash $ card that is pretty much a must-have in the sideboard for all RDW configurations in case you come up against a heavy lifegain.

I think Boros Reckoner is the best 3-drop for RDW with gatecrash coming. And for the Indestructible effect, I think Boros Charm is our best bet because its 4 damage to the face, double striking a creature or saving your creatures from a lot of the board wipes. Although with that in mind I think terminus will see a lot more play than supreme verdict, so indestutible creatures won't really matter anyways.

What is the opinion of Rubblebelt Raiders as a 4 drop?

I'll be running my own brew of Islands' until the meta settles, then I'll see what works best.
#2 mostly just ups the cost of the deck, adds some chance for mana problems, and doesn't put much back into the deck. Boros Charm is probably the only thing really worth splashing for, with maybe some Medics SB'd.
I working on my own brew for #3, I'll post it when I get something I like.
#4 seems a bit risky relying on lots of guys in play at once. And some decks still do run Thragtusk.

I'd SB the Medic. I'm really liking Reckoner, I've turned Mugging s into lethal damage with him.
What is the opinion of Rubblebelt Raiders as a 4 drop?
Raiders competes with Hellrider on 4. When I can no longer play Hellrider, I'll look into using Raiders, unless a better 4-drop has come around by then.

Thanks for the responses. I'll probably stick with traditional RDW, but definitely want to try out Islands' list. It looks sweet. Looks like I'll need to trade for a lot of stuff: skullcracks, tibalts, legion loyalists, and boros reckoners.

Get your Tibalts now while their still cheap. If Islands list takes off they could jump in value. I got mine for $2.75 each.

Had to recover my account just to come here and ask why everyone here is so in love with "Islands" and Tibalt. Tibalt is terrible. Is this a competitive forum? Has anyone been paying attention to the RDW lists that actually win? Tibalt is not in them.
If this is not a competitive forum than I am sorry but if it is you people need to go by results and not speculation.
RDW gets Boros Charm and Boros Reckoner from Gatecrash. RDW severly needed a non-Pyreheart Wolf 3-drop and it got it in a huge way. Obviously charm is a guaranteed 4 of as well. Current builds of RDW run the following without fail (Pre-Gatecrash)
4 Ash Zealot 4 Hellrider 4 Lightning Mauler 4 Rakdos Cackler 4 Stromkirk Noble
4 Searing Spear
I think the most successful version of post Gatecrash standard will be a R/wDW. If you try to get too cute with white (Champion of the Parish/Silverblade Paladin) you are going to sorely regret the mana.
RDW is a fine deck right and the 2nd most successful deck in the format. Now whether that is because it is cheap and abundant is hard to tell but it is the second highest top-8ing deck in the format.
It's problem cards are Sphinx's Revelation, Thragtusk, Supreme Verdict, and Terminus.
Revelation and Thragtusk are negated by Skullcrack (Still determining the correct split of this card although I am pretty sure it is 2/2).
Verdict is now hosed by Boros Charm and Terminus you just can't do much about.

First off, this a forum for deck creation and ideas. If we are just regurgitating lists that win tournaments why are these forums even here??? IF you haven't played a card, try it before you knock it. Tibalt is a card draw engine, and yes you randomly discard a card that may hurt a bit once in a while, but early game its dig and advantage. Secondly, his -4 ability is great against control. And if you ever get to use his -6 ability your are lucky as hell. He diverts attacks from you to him. No prob hit my tibalt giving me some tempo advantage. Against other aggro decks I side him out for more removal to take the control role in those matchups. Tonight I was playing against GW humans, so I sided out my 4 tibalts for more removal because Tibalt doesn't help in those matchups. Don't knock us for trying a card out. The "Islands" red build is in the Standard Deck Help section because it is not a proven tier deck. But it looks truly agressive with the highest casting cost being 3 in the whole deck. Tibalt works as a draw engine, and if you get him out turn 2, then by turn 4 you can use his -4 ability and make your opponent take damage for the number of cards in his had. You can redirect that damage at a plainswalker, or it can be the last bit you need to finish your opponent off. And yes I will be going RDW with a splash of white. my highest casting cost spells will be Brimstone Volley and Boros Reckoner . I will have 4 Boros Charm maindecked and 4 Skullcrack sideboarded for the life gain decks and the turbo fog decks. And I will have 4 Tibalt's in the main deck. Brad, you may not agree with the choices some of us make with our card selections. But before you go on about how terrible a card is, play it before you knock it. I always thought tibalt was bad too until I added him to my RDW. IT is a card that surprised me for sure. I have even made a few Tibalt converts at my LGS as well.

Here's a Gatecrash card that deserves consideration for RDW duty: Mark for Death . Really. The first part makes it seem rather lame but it's the last part that provides the goods; only one creature can block? Better still, choose a tapped creature and it's free swings for everyone! It's four mana and it's worthless if the bad guy has no creatures, but the card can win games. This I know to be true as I ran one in the pre-release and it was brutally effective when I drew it.
