Acidic Slime seems like a legit SB option. Probably the best option in the format for dealing with annoying lands. It also deals pretty well with stuff like Runechanter's Pike and Detention Sphere and whatnot. There are a decent amount of things in the format for it to trade with as well once it hits the table. As popular as R/B is at the moment, not everything is all Hellkites and Aristocrats. Obviously not as good here as it would be in Naya or Bant (you know, Resto Angel) but it still seems like solid SB tech. Making room for it shouldn't be too hard either, since most of the matchups where you would want it are the ones where you can afford to swap out a Thragtusk or two anyways.

Went 2-2 tonight for my first night playing Jund competitively. Everything that I metagamed for wasn't even there. With our LGS closing and reopening under a different name and better management, tons of players came out for the first FNM with the new store. I didn't see any of the GW aggro that populated my meta so heavy a couple weeks ago, nor any BR aggro. What I did see was Bant Tokens, Jund Aggro, UB Zombies, and Bant Control. The last of which all my sideboard cards for the control match avoided me. Just like all the cards for aggro avoided me in the UB zombies match. Not making excuses because these things happen occassionally, especially when I don't play blue. I like the deck and want to soldier on with it so I reworked it last night. Here is my new list.... 4 x huntmaster of the fells 2 x olivia voldaren 4 x thragtusk 2 x thundermaw hellkite 2 x garruk, primal hunter 2 x rakdos keyrune 2 x bonfire of the damned 3 x dreadbore 4 x farseek 2 x mizzium mortars 2 x pillar of flame 2 x rakdos's return 2 x sever the bloodline 1 x slaughter games 2 x ultimate price 4 x blood crypt 2 x cavern of souls 2 x dragonskull summit 1 x forest 2 x kessig wolf run 1 x mountain 4 x overgrown tomb 4 x rootbound crag 4 x woodland cemetery 2 x abrupt decay 1 x bonfire of the damned 3 x deathrite shaman 1 x dreadbore 2 x duress 2 x pillar of flame 1 x rakdos's return 2 x slaughter games 1 x underworld connections

This is the deck I running right now. I tried out Desecration Demon for awhile and found that he is best on turn 3 or 4 anything after that isn't as good. I also tried out 2 main Vraska which was ok but I really wasn't in love with seeing multiples. I'm not having too much issue with any specific deck I win some games and lose some games. I am testing Bloodgift Demon as a card draw/ win condition. I'll let you know how it goes. // Deck: jund rock (60)
// Lands 4 Blood Crypt 4 Dragonskull Summit 2 Forest 1 Kessig Wolf Run 4 Overgrown Tomb 4 Rootbound Crag 1 Stensia Bloodhall 4 Woodland Cemetery
// Creatures 2 Bloodgift Demon 3 Deathrite Shaman 4 Huntmaster of the Fells 2 Olivia Voldaren 4 Thragtusk
// Spells 2 Abrupt Decay 3 Bonfire of the Damned 3 Dreadbore 4 Farseek 2 Garruk, Primal Hunter 2 Rakdos Keyrune 1 Rakdos's Return 3 Ultimate Price 1 Vraska the Unseen
// Sideboard SB: 2 Abrupt Decay SB: 1 Deathrite Shaman SB: 1 Dreadbore SB: 2 Mizzium Mortars SB: 3 Pillar of Flame SB: 1 Rakdos's Return SB: 2 Sever the Bloodline SB: 3 Slaughter Games

HAs anyone seen anything from Gatecrash that will help this deck? I can't think of a single card worth playing in Jund.

Skullcrack will be great in this deck. Negating a Thragtusk can be huge. Instant speed removal is going to be necessary with all the haste and Ghost Council. I was thinking Victim of Night as the only things we can't hit with it are Falkenrath Aristocrat, huntmaster and all of zombies. For me I haven't seen zombies in quite a while so this may be suitable. Murder though may be better due to its verstility. Thoughts?
Clan Defiance looks nifty but I'm not sure it has a place in this deck.
Lastly Bloodgift Demon is not any good here. Anytime I had him I didn't want to play him. I'd rather have something else most of the time. I decided to maindeck Sever the Bloodline and an extra Olivia because I see so many Predator Ooze that I need to be able to kill or steal their Ooze and the fight guy.

What is the best removal package for this deck. I'm currently running a combination of abrupt decay, setting spear, devour flesh, mizzium mortars and bonfire of the damned. I was having trouble with ghost council decks and just wanted more instant speed removal that's where devour flesh comes in. I also upped the number of decays to 3 bc of blind obedience. Any thoughts?

I'm baaaack?
Chad, that's a fine question with an as-yet uncertain answer.
Ghost Whatever shouldn't bother you too much. It's incremental and we do that better. Dear Orzhov: meet Thragtusk. You should absolutely not be to the point where they're threatening to kill you first with Ghost Council. You should have them at the point where they can't EOT blink their Council because they have to block your lethal damage. IMHExperience.
Decay is great against aggro; Ultimate Price is good everywhere.. could see 2/2 split or so MD. Mortars I've never been hot on if you all remember, but I think the card is decent. Bonfire is pants-on-head crazy in this deck. Play them. Devour Flesh is a stupid card and you shouldn't play it. I want to point my removal at stuff and we can. That's coming on too strong as Flesh isn't awful, but I don't think it's even ballpark what we want now. Sure I'll sac my mana dork, untap kill you with the creatures you wish you could have Ultimate Priced.
If you have too much trouble against random things, don't forget Dreadbore is still a card. Not sure it's where you need to be, but in a world of Lightning Bolt-you-back-for-Spearing-me's, it's worth remembering. Also remember Flames of the Firebrand. Probably a playable sideboard card.
I'll be posting my list probably tomorrow. Nothing super whacky so far, but conservatively probably a good starting point.
Welcome to 2012. Blue has the most efficient creatures, black has the all-in monocolored aggro deck, the most controlling deck in the format is green-red, control decks lose to aggro in attrition wars, and counterspells aren't an answer to fatties.
Pack Rat is like Bitterblossom and Tarmogoyf had a black baby.

I'm super convinced that boros reckoner is going to be a thing so I'm looking toward none damaging removal. Is ult. Price really that good in a word full of multi colored creatures? What about victim of night as zombies is all but dead and there are only a small hand full of good creatures it can't hit and of those your other removal can take care of it. Just some thoughts.
