I was playing online and asked the ORC's about this and it really didn't clear it up so I'm wondering if someone here can. When playing Vampire Nocturnus  why isn't a Swamp considered a black card, if a swamp is required to play black spells?

a cards color is decided by its mana cost or by its color indicator  or if some effect  gives it a color Swamp  has neither a mana cost nor a color indicator, so it is colorless
