Looking forward to the update, particularly the general performance and "blocking" issues you refer to. I've noticed one strange error where I can't see anything in a trade folder sometimes until I manually select "card view", I'll be looking to see if that's fixed. Probably the most annoying part of the "collection" tab for people first opening up the beta client is that it defaults to "0" for quantity owned. It's highly counterintuitive that the default view for your "collection" actually includes every card ever printed on mtgo, this should certainly be "1" by default. Speaking of defaults, the default order for format type (in game creation etc.) needs some serious looking over. Finding "standard", among the list of 100 random formats is really annoying. The most popular formats should be up the top of the list.

I have a small thing to say about one of the focus of your article ; there is a screenshot of the search criterias with the already existing slidebar to choose the wanted ccm of a card. I really think that having to move a slidebar and make several clicks to get to the wanted number instead of having the simple choice of entering the number you want in a box is infuriating, especially when you have a wide screen. Please at least give us the choice between these two options.

I'm disappointed that they still haven't implemented the "binder" view for the collection, like it works in v3. At this point, sadly, I think this won't be changed back.
This greatly diminishes the "collecting" aspect of Magic Online.

When you've been playing for a while and your binder has a thousand pages and 50 tabs down the side, it starts being more than a little cumbersome. I haven't actually tried the beta, but that's one change that seems pretty reasonable.
Now if only they'd introduce the ability to delete stuff you don't want, at least for things you can't trade. Let's bring the Magic UI up to date with functionality from the 80s, please.

I completely agree with this.
I know it sounds silly, but after all these years of playing, I really enjoy flipping through my "binder" of cards for nostalgic value. I also make it a point to play in the retro sets when they get released (MED, Mirage, Tempest, Urzas, Masques, etc). I love making my binder fill up with more tabs and I even collect all the special deck releases (Premium Deck Series, Planechase, Commander, etc).
I'm a collector as much as I am a player, and I sincerely hope they will consider giving collectors the ability to have a "binder" view of their collection. I have to add that it makes a great digital metaphor between the Magic Online and paper Magic. This makes it much more intuitive to players coming from paper and trying out digital.

What you say about all the column of impossible-to-read tabs is true. But, there's also the case where I want to just see cards from a particular block sorted by collector number. When I do this, the tabs are quite useful (since there's no more than 3). I can flip from set to set with a simple mouse click. I like to do this when drafting some of the last cards in a pack to grab the lousy common I still need for my playset.
I also prefer to flip from page to page over scrolling. I need to see if the "Page Down" keyboard key works like I'd hope in the Beta. I don't recall it ever working like I expected in V3.
Another use for the tabs is to select a single set and sort by rarity. This yields one tab per rarity, making it real quick to spot that uncommon or rare I still need. With the current interface, I'd either need them all displayed together or have to flip filters on and off.

I'm curious to find out more about the auto-saved limited decks. Are they saved as "net decks" or locally on my hard drive? I'd like them to be saved locally. It gives me a simple view to see how often I play limited. I have my limited decks saved going all the way back to V1.

I'm so happy they fixed the keyboard focus on login. I don't know how many times I've had to enter my password twice, probably every time I logged in.
