At SCGOs (which I'm aware aren't proper looks at the meta but provide some interesting looks at decks) people are playing GW aggro builds that look like they could start moving up. Maybe something to keep track of. The deck is pretty powerful.
Watching SCG coverage, people have fallen into a false sense of security that the game doesn't start until turn 4. G/W aggro can kill on turn four in a number of ways. It isn't a surprise.

SCG writers and events are so far behind the meta, it's disgusting

SCG events have the issue of people focusing primarly on them (for the people that attend them) so the meta tends to move slower compared to MODO (which moves considerably fast)
The writers just write about whats going on in the opens, mostly. No big surprise there. If you are reading stuff on there for specific tech, you are probably doing it wrong. A writeup about a deck is fine (like Tompson or Prosak's articles about the UW flash deck) but if you go on there and one of them is talking about "the newest tech for the meta" it generally means you are behind the times. Reason is because a lot of them have to write 1 week or more in advance (not all of them, but they do in many cases. The mothership is anywhere from 1-2 weeks in advance)
People get trapped in hive mind thought. You can't fault them too much for it. Not everyone has the time/skill to make their own good decks, and just wanna play.
I'm also in a really mellow mood right now, very rare form for me. I need to spend more time in Deck Help, get back to my usual ornery self.
