Creatures: 1 x ghost council of orzhova 2 x angel of despair 4 x grave titan 2 x massacre wurm 4 x stillmoon cavalier 2 x bloodgift demon 1 x teysa, orzhov scoin 2 x restless apparition 1 x nefarox, overlord of grixis 1 x fallen angel Spells: 4 x dark ritual 2 x damnation 4 x oblivion ring 4 x mortify 1 x austere command 1 x life's finale Lands: 5 x swamp 5 x plains 4 x orzhov basillica 4 x fetid heath 4 x isolated chapels 2 x vault of the archangel I plan on taking out Teysa, Nefarox, ghost counsil, and fallen angel. These 4 cards don't have much impact on the game when I play them besides Nefarox. I have been thinking about putting in 2 debtor's knell for end game. I like the control of this deck, but if feels as though I have to stall through mid-game to start rolling. Price is no issue for cards I am willing to aquire for this deck. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have been searching for other cards and so far I like vindicate , demonic tutor , and nirkana revenant . I think I will have to put vindicate in, but I don't know about the others in terms of power. I think I need a black or white creature turn 2 or 4 drop. Any suggestions?

If you can AFFORD the Vindicates and Demonic Tutors, you should definitely run them. Vindicate is the BEST removal card ever printed. Tutor lets you find anything in your deck and do the same. Nirkana Rvenant is so-so. Angel od Despair is definitely the BW finisher of choice, though in a BW deck, the finisher could literally be anything. Hell, MY BW control deck used World Queller , and even Dread Statuary for awhile! As for 2 and 4 drops, Tidehollow Sculler is good for 2, and...idk what do you want your 4 drop to do?

Lord_Zed: I was at my friends house when this happened. He's married and his wife was an excellent baker. She had baked a homemade apple pie the night before.
I was hungry, and my friend convinced me to try those low carb monster drinks. Before this day, I had never triend energy drinks before.
Boy was I in for a treat.
When I tried that first monster, I really enjoyed the flavor, but the taste that it left in my mouth wasn't so good. What was my solution? Drink another!
before I could finish drinking that 2nd monster, I felt it already kicking in(these drinks were not very far apart, we're talking minutes here) my friend decided that it was a good idea to whip out that fresh pie his wife made the night before. I didn't know what to do, since I felt incredibly invigorated, and at the same time, freaked out by the rush I was feeling, but I was also hungry, and my friend have me an entire plate with a fork and said "help yourself." He extended his saucer to me, and I cut him a piece of the pie and handed it to him, then I looked at the pie, noticed that the pie was in an aluminum holder, and dumped the entire pie onto my plate and started eating it with 2 forks. I don't know where I found that other fork, it probably came from my friend. Anyhow, his wife wasn't happy, and I was already in magical christmas land. 2 days later, I was in my friends bed and I slept for 14 hours.
His wife outlawed my from having any of her baked goods for a while(which sucked because I could just show up at there house, steal some sweets, and leave) and said I couldn't have any energy drinks at her house, unless under close watch.
My friend, on the other hand, had to take me out to a steak dinner, because apparently I won a bet where I climbed a tree and didn't die.

Zendikar had fetchlands, and Worldwake had manlands. What are the new Scars duals called?
Explosive Peanut Lightning lands. Well, that's just what I call them.
i'm just trying to figure out what the point of saying this is. it's just really random.
And so the pot met the kettle.

Thanks for the post! Yea, I can get the vindicate and tutors, but it just takes a little saving. I like the tidehollow sculler and I am considering putting that in since I did have castigate in the deck before. I usually have no turn 4 drops unless I have a dark ritual or damnation . I just don't like to usually leave a turn out in play with nothing played is all.

Well, one of my favorite 4 drops in black is Skinrender . In white, Loxodon Gatekeeper is the one I'd play.

in my experience cmc 6 spells is beyond what you can run without draw or ramp. Your deck has 40% lands, to get to 6 on average you need to get your starting hand + 8 cards (ie 8 turns) before you're able to cast cmc 6. Sometimes this will be less and sometimes much more. cmc 5 is about the max you can run without draw/ramp and it should be mixed with cmc 3 and 4. ritual helps a bit, but with just 4 of them its far from enough. imo you need to change this to either (artifact) ramp or to exchange 90% of your high cmc guys for cheaper stuff like vampire nighthawk and desecration demon. a good mana engine for black is cabal coffers urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and expedition map - this gives you a fair chance of having 6 mana t4. is expensive but if you have the cash...you'd have to go mono-B tho but if you do you can even run phyrexian obliterator a final option would be to exchange about half the deck with stuff that provides cantrips and/or draw. white has a lot of good options for this. demonic tutor is banned and for good reason. using it is cheating imo. if you plan on using you might as well add some sol ring and mana vault ...but that would be weak....

Ritual is bad in Control. It's a waste of a slot. You have way too much expensive stuff, and not enough cheap removal. A speedy deck will just run you over. demonic tutor is banned and for good reason. using it is cheating imo
lol.

^this. It's not cheating in the slightest. Its a card that is in magic, and it's a casual format.

so is unglued and power 9...in the early days developers were making cards based on the concept of people more or less having to randomly get their cards from boosters. in those conditions there was room for ridiculously costed cards. as the game gained popularity such cards became available to anyone with the cash to get them which became a problem when tournaments started up and the game became competitive.
part of what makes the game great is the balance...ruining it by playing overpowered cards is super weak.
