Oh, right. I updated with flavor when you said you had comments done, because I completely ignored the context of that sentence and just assumed you said stuff about closing soon and such.
I (obviously) think the balance is fine. While it's strong, it's also really easy to make really weak. It only works against so much, and is nearly dead against anything able to put a non-creature it the graveyard every round. Of course, you can help it along yourself, but then you're into two card territory that relies on the opposing deck to be good.
Everything Mown does is elegant.

More damage you say? Sword of Vengeance me please!@Morgothra: You hero's colour is in the OP - it's a big ass mana symbol on your heroes title bar. Tactic

Farming Onslaught was combat, but Odyssey was Graveyard right? So by return to Otaria you mean this new set has a theme of combat? I'm going to assume yes. So Onslaught was tribal, morph, provoke etc. Notable white tribes - soldiers, clerics and slivers to some extent. Tribal has been done much better since, so I think I'm looking at a card that focuses on actual combat. Inspiring Paladin | Creature - Human KnightDouble strike Whenever Inspiring Paladin deals combat damage, you may put a 1/1 white soldier creature token onto the battlefield. Each sweep of his blade finds an enemy to be defeated. 2/2

I can't speak for others, but I signed up for a beta so I'm totally cool with sweeping changes being made mid-round. that's just how these things go. strategy

okay, at this point Morgothra's a bit lower in hit points. I'm not sure if we should keep trying to know him down or if we should switch over and let him get knocked down on his own through the natural course of the game. either way though I think Morgothra should turn to offense. Jessie I think should just always defend and pick up swords and potions as necessary/possible, because her hit points are very low and the value of the explosions we get out of her getting 5s far outweigh the 1-2 damage difference in attacking, which leaves her much more exposed. (3 times as exposed, once we factor in my ability.) on the other hand, I can definitely see the case for her farming. Confused, I think you want to farm for one more turn, but I can see the case for going aggro too.
I'm a little concerned by the unilateral farming and suspect the other team may have found something degenerate but I think we're better off sticking to our guns then trying to jump into their strategy a turn behind. although my ability helps us catch up, and I have a good guess as to what they're doing. Kavu said that swords stack, so if we just farm and buy swords whenever we can our damage output is going to grow to the point where our loss of damage early isn't gonna matter. we could go for that, if you guys want, like I said my ability is gonna help us catch up. thoughts?
120.6. Some effects replace card draws.

What's my hero's colour? I can't see one anywhere.
Also, can I get some more info wrt gold and items; can I give them to my party members, sell them back to the shop or stack them? If I buy Greatsword now can I pay 20g more to upgrade it?
Your hero's color is represented by the mana symbol in the fancy graphic title in the home thread. It is also the color of the background of the stat page where the hero's name is (if you open up a couple different ones, you'll see what I mean). To be precise, your hero is
Gold and items you buy are your own; they cannot be shared. Currently there is no selling back of items. The Greatsword and the Sword of Vengeance are unrelated, each is a seperate and distinct item (the intent was to make players choose earlier damage, or delay it for a better damage/gold ratio).

Return to Otaria thoughts

Odyssey and Onslaught were way before my time, so I spent a while on MTGS' wiki reading about the blocks and setting. In case it's helpful to people, some summary and speculation:
As far as I can tell, the last time we saw Otaria, Karona had just finished ruining everything and then turning back into Jeska. So, in a Return to Otaria we'd be looking at a continent recovering from war -- probably a setting where there's a semblance of stability with a few nation-states formed, because that's usually ripe for conflict. As for the old inhabitants... * The Cabal was destroyed * The Order was mostly destroyed * It seems Krosa has decayed somewhat, but the druids remain there and are trying to restore it * The Mer Empire was pretty wrecked up by the Mirari * The Pardic humans are extinct; the Skirk goblins remain; nobody knows about the dwarves. So there's not a whole lot of continuity between old and new Otaria, making the usual nostalgia part of a 'Return' set a bit tricky to nail. Imi has a good solution (make a non-nostalgia card), I suppose.
Rotlung Remnant Creature -- Zombie Whenever a Zombie you control deals combat damage to a player, you may return target Zombie creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. A few servants of the Cabal linger on, mindlessly trying to restore its former glory.

'cause Spawnwrithe effects are all kinds of fun, especially when they're bringing about the zombie apocalypse . questions on card

* Would this be better if it hit any creature card then turned it into a zombie, Rise from the Grave -style? It's the way it is for flavor reasons -- I really liked the idea of a sort of shambling leftover from the bad old days, and everything else is built from that. It's basically mindless, so all it can do is wander around exhuming its old comrades, not cast spells to reanimate any corpse it finds. Also, limiting the ability better fits the just-a-remnant idea, as it shouldn't really be an epic card. That said, I'm definitely open to other opinions. * Alternatively, it could also make 2/2 tokens in fine old Zombie tradition. This has the disadvantage of making it quite similar to Imi's card. * Is the costing OK? Repeatable reanimation an evasive body is a bit powerful. I could drop dropped intimidate and am still reasonably content.
Oh, yeah, like the others I'm fine with the rules changing radically halfway through. It's a beta, that's how it's supposed to work. :-)

Great, scored 1, maybe I should find a river and jump into it. (Should have known I suck at anything that is related to Moba even though the card-making part has nothing to do with it. Let me rant, k?.) Too depressed to think of a card, maybe I will do it later. As for tactics, building up damage for now seems like the better choice. Their team is practically un-killable.
Onslaught and Odessey isn't something I am all that familiar with.

Okay, here is the clincher. I've been waiting to say this.
The "cam girl" this was inspired by was just a girl from a social networking website, Stickam. Her name was TinyTerror and she was just a regular girl who was on her webcam, totally unrelated to any type of adult content.
I hope you all feel really smart now.
This is like someone coming into class with a bloody nose and everyone's like "Jeez what happened to you" and they're like "I ran into a wall" and everyone laughs at them for being an idiot but then at the end of the class they say "HAHA JUST KIDDING I PUNCHED MYSELF IN THE FACE!!!!!! TALK ABOUT OWNED HAHAHAHAHA"
I really enjoy imagining this from Kevin's perspective. Because in Kevin's world, Rosewater actually reads everything he types. Mark is sitting there right now, reading this, and thinking "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled. . ." Or some such. He chuckles low, then clicks on "The Best Of KEVINSET" and says "Yes, this'll do just fine. A busty lady with banding who deals direct damage to Zones!? Why this will be the star of my next set, and no one will ever believe you Kevin." Then he closes his Macbook, so his servant may move it out of the way, while another servant puts a Fetal Richard Garfield Clone lathered in Steak Sauce in front of him. Then Mark Feasts.
Sorin walked into the chamber where his newly wed bride, Vampy, awaited. A beam of moonlight illuminated his brilliant silver hair as he strode with confidence towards the bed. His shirtless body showcased his powerful abdominal muscles and he was wearing jeans with holes in the knees.
I wish more girls play magic cards...
Have you considered assassinating Kevin?

Aphetto Cutthroat Creature - Horror ~ is unblockable. Whenever ~ attacks, each opponent may make each player discard a card. If he or she does, prevent all damage ~ would do this turn. Threshhold - As long as seven or more cards are in your graveyard, damage done by ~ cannot be prevented. 3/2 strategy : farm

So, Otaria. The setting, it leaves a lot to be desired. The characters did too, but some of them have nonetheless remained some of the most striking and memorable heroes and villains (mostly villains) of Magic, including my favorite angel - Akroma. Akroma's life was relatively short, but her hatred reshaped Otaria and threatened to annihilate it before she was absorbed into Karona. Now, with rumors of war stirring once again and the sliver hives creeping forth from their holes, those that once served her remember that hate and call upon it anew. Strike Down Instant [Rare] Strike Down deals damage equal to their toughness to each creature blocking or blocked by one or more creatures you control. "Not even death can save them from Her." Marisel, Justicar of WrathI'm trying to throw back to the flavor behind Akroma's Vengeance while also making reference to the idea behind Akroma's Memorial ; a cult remains that still worships the Angel of Wrath, clinging to her memory and fragments of her magic in the wake of the disasters that rock(ed) Dominara and Otaria.
