Omfg you guys, honestly!? "Barn" is short for "barnacle," a creature which latches onto the hulls of ships or other being more mobile than themselves.

Hm. Not sure how that really applies to me, but we'll go with it.

Aaron Forsythe and RnD's general excuse have been "SCGO / MTGO & hivemind saturate and figure out the format too fast! Evil tournaments!" with the whole JTMS fiasco so you were just parroting their words, thus the barn comment.

That's not what I meant, actually. I was talking about the fact that the hivemind rapidly rejects ideas and that it's usually pretty permanent, which leads to a far narrower metagame than should exist. I told people for months that RWB Reanimator could be built to easily beat both Green-based aggro and Delver, but I was consistently told that it couldn't work because it hadn't worked.

And then, on the other hand, you had all of the people who jumped on the Trading Post bandwagon despite it very clearly being awful against Delver. Why? Because Brad wrote it up and then a few people had minor success with it. So yeah, the hivemind had it all tweaked up to max potential, but it was still bad.

And JtMS/SFM, well, I still don't entirely agree with that banning decision (given the timeframe), but half of the problem there was the complete lack of actual answers after the M12 rotation. I don't recall WotC ever saying anything about the hivemind being at fault.
