If you mill loxodon smiter due to mind sculpt or similar spell does it go to the battlefi
eld or graveyard?

To mill you put cards from your library into your graveyard.  Loxodon Smiter is put onto the battlefield if it's discarded, that is put into the graveyard from your hand.  So to answer your question it would end up in the graveyard.

Though I can't think of an example off the top of my head, it's at least possible (and may be actual) for something to move cards from your hand to your graveyard without discarding them. Such movement only counts as discarding if the word "discard" is actually used to describe it (on the card that does it, or in the rulebook in the case of the end-of-turn discard for exceeding your hand limit).

What you wanted to say, of course, is that "discard" means "move the relevant card from your hand to your graveyard", which is true. But what you actually said was that "move the relevant card from your hand to your graveyard" means "discard", which isn't.
