Todays RtR card to rate is... Annihilating Fire Spoiler:
Show
5.0: First pick no matter what pack. 4.5: First pick pack 1. 4.0: I will strongly consider playing this as the only card of its color. 3.5: I feel a strong pull into this card’s color. 3.0: This card makes me want to play this color. 2.5: Several cards of this power level start to pull me to this color. 2.0: Should generally make the deck if in this color. 1.5: Decent filler. 1.0: 23rd card if you have to. 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. 0.0: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding).
I can't believe we have a card that's strictly worse then a Kamigawa block card. Yamabushi's Flame was so much nicer. This is still a good card it's just no where near as easy to splash for. 2.5-3 Discuss!

2.5 and wow, that's a kick to see a 3 damage spell worse than Yamabushi's Flame.
Those who fear the darkness have never seen what the light can do.
I've seen angels fall from blinding heights. But you yourself are nothing so divine. Just next in line.

2.5 This card is a little odd because the Double RR both sucks and is great. It sucks because it means you need to be deep R to get what is mid-range removal and for a price more than Searing Spear . It's great because it means other players won't be stealing it to splash.
Tolkein was a jerk. Seriously, what DM sends 9 Wraith Lords at a Lvl 2 party of Halflings.
The only 'correct' way to play D&D is by whatever method is making the group you have at that session, have the most fun.

They really wanted to slow this format down, didn't they? The is annoying to fullfill, but three damage is a very relevant number in this format. This card will probably be least relevant against Izzet. Against Selesnya and Golgari it seems perfect. Against Rakdos and Azorius it will be fine just as removal for annoying things and a way to slow down aggression.

3.5. This card is ridiculous. It might be but it's worth it. Also, the presence of Goblin Electromancer would make it far too good at .

2.5 for me. Probably the best red common but the double red is really painful in decks that are often 3 colours.
Burn is always good (or nearly always) but this isn't burn at its best.

Something in the 2.5-3.0 range feels right for this one.

I'm at 3.5 here also.
I think R&D is moving toward making the premium removal cards harder to splash for, which is the right call IMO.

Yeah, it's 3cmc and RR, but it's rare to cast removal spells on curve. And it's worse than yamabushi's flame, but even worse than carbonize .
1000th post November 26, 2010. Where Islands gets his decks: Spoiler:
Show
It was revealed to me in a dream. All the cards were in my dream except for three slots which I plugged in as Vault Skirge.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The dream was post AVR so there was a copy of Slayer's Stronghold. I decided to keep it pre AVR in my post here.
EDIT: I just remembered. The Skirges might have been 2x Whipflare and 1x something else, probably War and Peace.
EDIT2: Currently 4-0 in my first four games with this. My opponents have been very angry. I fought off a Wurmcoil from Grixis for six turns before I found my second Dispatch. Jeez, I can do a lot of damage.
EDIT3: Streak broken. Lost to an unexpected Overrun. Cracking a Shrine for 10 wasn't enough.
How Kedi tests his decks: Spoiler:

also, I've been playtesting this deck in my sleep today that kinda freaked me out
