Todays RtR card to rate is...
Annihilating Fire Spoiler: Show 5.0: First pick no matter what pack. 4.5: First pick pack 1. 4.0: I will strongly consider playing this as the only card of its color. 3.5: I feel a strong pull into this card’s color. 3.0: This card makes me want to play this color. 2.5: Several cards of this power level start to pull me to this color. 2.0: Should generally make the deck if in this color. 1.5: Decent filler. 1.0: 23rd card if you have to. 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. 0.0: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding). I can't believe we have a card that's strictly worse then a Kamigawa block card. Yamabushi's Flame 2.5-3 Discuss!
2.5 and wow, that's a kick to see a 3 damage spell worse than Yamabushi's Flame.
2.5
This card is a little odd because the Double RR both sucks and is great. It sucks because it means you need to be deep R to get what is mid-range removal and for a price more than Searing Spear
They really wanted to slow this format down, didn't they? The
![]() is annoying to fullfill, but three damage is a very relevant number in this format. This card will probably be least relevant against Izzet. Against Selesnya and Golgari it seems perfect. Against Rakdos and Azorius it will be fine just as removal for annoying things and a way to slow down aggression.
3.5. This card is ridiculous. It might be
![]() but it's worth it. Also, the presence of Goblin Electromancer ![]() .
2.5 for me. Probably the best red common but the double red is really painful in decks that are often 3 colours.
Burn is always good (or nearly always) but this isn't burn at its best.
Something in the 2.5-3.0 range feels right for this one.
I'm at 3.5 here also.
I think R&D is moving toward making the premium removal cards harder to splash for, which is the right call IMO.
Yeah, it's 3cmc and RR, but it's rare to cast removal spells on curve.
And it's worse than yamabushi's flame, but even worse than carbonize
2.5
This card doesn't make me want to play red but if I'm drafting red I'll always play this card.
