i just want to make sure i'm correct about this. if my opponent casts something that makes a token (say, with Call of the Conclave ), and i play Gather Specimens in response, do /i/ own that token? (important for cards such as Brand and Homeward Path )

110.5a. A token is both owned and controlled by the player under whose control it entered the battlefield. So yes, you would own the Centaur token.

Especially those who ran and bought four Brand the year before...
