Friend of mine had this wicked looking full art card.  I asked him which event he got that at, and he said he didn't.  That it came from a booster pack.  I feel that he's full of S, but thought I'd come and see how true this can be.

If it's a creature, it could have come out of the Future Sight. What's the expansion symbol?

Didn't pay attention to the symbol (was in hurry to leave), but it was something that is in current standard.  Possible it was a reprint.

The Future Sight full-art cards are Blade of the Sixth Pride , Blind Phantasm , Mass of Ghouls , Fomori Nomad , and Nessian Courser . None of them is Standard-legal.

The only other full-art cards that came in boosters are basic lands, from Unglued, Unhinged, and Zendikar.

Was it a token card? Something like this?

This isn't a "real" card, you don't use it on your deck. You can let it aside and use only when some effect puts a "creature token" on the battlefield.

I  am fairly certain there is no full-art non-token card thats legal in standard and that comes from a booster.

Theres several standard-legal cards that have fullart versions, but  I think none of them  come from a booster pack.

For example I own fullart sign in bloods, but thats from player rewards.

In addition to Player rewards, there's the cards from game day.

Apperently it came from a booster pack. The only thing I can think of is a token really.

Altered art is really common nowadays.  Did it have a black border?
