So, this won't actually be called "Mathset", but I don't have a name for it yet. It isn't an un-set, so BF, your silly cards won't work here - though feel free to post them because they are amusing. Oh, and I'm still working on M'Nool - but lately I've been having a lot more ideas about this, so even though it is probably a bad idea to start two Sets at once - I just can't help myself.

Oxidizer Creature - Elemental (C)

For as long as any Euclidean can remember the five illusions have wandered the grid. The travel hither and thither, with no obvious pattern. This has confounded the Plane's mathamagician's for eons. Why would they track such creatures, one might inquire. Well, besides the obvious reason that every other being on the Plane has understandable patterns and rhythms to its motions and movements, there is one other reason. In the center of the grid, where X meets Y sits a temple as old as the grid itself. There are many antiquities within, and pilgrimage to the spot is extremely common. There are few adult Euclideans alive who have not seen the Temple. What do they see when they enter? On the far wall there is an alter and above it a Sacred Tapestry hangs. The Tapestry depicts the Holy Grid with each of its Four Quadrants. But below that image there is another. A Pentagrid. There is hovers between the Painted Quadratic Grid and the Real One, and under it the inscription reads: "There will come a day, and it shall be foretold, that on this day, the Five Pentalli (meaning the Illusions) shall be lain to dust. And from their deaths shall arise a new quadrant - nay, a pentadrant, and the grid shall become shaped in the manner befitting, and there will be many tears, and much blood, and a great deal of spittle." So, the prophesy tells it, and so the people believe it. And so, too, do the trackers and holy men watch these creatures, awaiting the day that the Grid is forever altered. Torae YokurShow
The Illusion of the Oxen. The Illusion of the Oxen hovers at all times half the length of its horns off the Grid. It chews incessantly. Its left eye is closed in what appears to be slumber. Its right eye peers straight ahead. Above the Oxen floats a Beryl Hecatohedron. As it travels, nearby eggs hatch, even those thought infertile. Winds calm and grass grows in its wake. To be born near the passing of the Ox, is to be a blessing unto future fertility. Offices associated with the Oxborn are often political or religious. When the Oxen is in your Quadrant it is said to be a good time to spare. Spare your children their punishments. Spare your animals their slaughter. Spare yourself your reprimands.
The Illusion of the Toad. The Illusion of the Toad hops slowly across the Grid. Its tongue is forever fully extended at a 45 degree angle from the ground and three times the length of its body. Its eyes constantly twitch in an attempt to view all that surrounds it. Above the Toad floats a Hyacinth Trapezohedron. As it travels streams and rivers reverse their flows. Wind will change direction. In its wake a great meandering estuary forms. To be born near the passing of the Toad, is to be a blessing unto future knowledge. Offices associated with the Toadborn are often scholarly in nature. When the Toad is in your Quadrant it is said to be a good time to learn. Learn through texts and tomes. Learn through listening to others. Learn through listening to yourself.
The Illusion of the Crocodile. The Illusion of the Crocodile swims through the air at the height of two-tall men stacked upon each other. Its tail forever dances back and forth. Its eyes are closed. Above the Crocodile floats a Carnelian Antiprism. As it travels the dying take their final breaths. Long-held desires are granted. A starving creature may find a quick demise or an incredible feast. In its wake bones sprout from the ground. These are considered sacred, and it is societal principle that one does not touch them. To be born near the passing of the Crocodile, is to be a blessing unto future power. Offices associated with the Crocodileborn are often Military or Competitive in nature. When the Crocodile is in your Quadrant it is said to be a good time for death. If one is dying, or is longing for death, one should end one's life. If one is longing for the death of another, it is a good time to kill.
The Illusion of the Goat. The Illusion of the Goat will only move when no one is watching. When it does it seems to teleport great distances across the Grid. Because of its sacred nature, the Goat has many followers. They watch it constantly and in shifts, so that it will not leave their quadrant. However, the Goat always finds a way. It is never in one place for too long. At the pivotal moment, every watcher will blink, or look up at a sudden noise, or drift off to sleep, or be blinded by a cloud of dust. It does not matter. The Goat has never been in any Quadrant for longer than a fortnight. It stands completely still, letting out a low, melodious bleat. The Bleat itself is often that which causes its watchers to fall prey to slumber. Such a soothing sound. Its eyes stare simultaneously into the eyes of every watcher. No one knows what they do when nobody is watching. Above it floats a Chrysalite Rhombihexacron. In its general vicinity, sweet smells abound, memories come to those who long for them, and troubling events in one's past are wiped from one's mind. When it disappears it will leave behind one Crocus growing from the point at which it stood. The Crocus is treated as Holy, and it is crime to in any way injure it. To be born near the passing of the Goat, is to be a blessing unto future spirit. Offices associated with the Goatborn are often Magical or Artistic. When the Goat is in your quadrant, it is said to be a good time for trying. Trying what you've yet to try. Trying what you've failed at in the past. Trying the things that you know you cannot succeed at.
The Illusion of the Ape. The Illusion of the Ape swings from point to point on the branches of invisible trees. Its brow is forever furrowed and its eyes move freely, looking only at what interests them. Above it floats an Onyx Sphere. When it is near, lost items are found, difficult jars are opened, and questions are answered. In its wake, saplings sprout. To be born near the passing of the Ape is be a blessing unto future nature. Offices associated with the Apeborn are often Agricultural or those that require great traveling. When the Ape is in your quadrant, it is said to be a good time for questioning and answering. Question the things you've always wished to know. Answer the questions that those around you, including yourself, have always asked of you.
Eight official months or Cycles: 1. Ichcycle - 21 days 2. Nicycle - 25 days 3. Sancycle - 34 days 4. Yoncycle - 35 days 5. Gocycle - 45 days 6. Rocycle - 66 days 7. Nanacycle - 67 days 8. Kucycle - 80 days (This is a remnant from ancient and forbidden cults - it is now colloquially accepted and the history is perhaps a little suppressed. More on that below.)
X. Nurucycle - 0 days (at one time it was 10 days) - The Nurucycle is not spoken of. Its existence is questionable. Whether or not people ever lived in a world with Nine Months is subject to a great deal of disbelief. However there are subverts that believe that at one time, eons ago, there were nine Cycles. They hold that Nurucycle was dismantled and the extra days were installed in Nicycle and Sancycle, with the last day added to Yoncycle. They do this secretly of course. Nurucycle is a highly taboo topic, and discussion of it could lead to banishment or worse.
