I have no real idea how this deck would work, but it seemed like it would be fun. This is a rough concept of what I'd want to do and I'd figure I'd come here first to get some combo and card ideas. Vampire Nighthawk  and Pristine Tailsman  keep me ahead in the life race but I don't think I really need to explain the rest. I'm on a budget guys, so no cards that cost more than $4 dollars. For multiplayer and single player games, but more of the former. Kitchen Table Casual, but modern legal if possible. What other cards should I consider running. BTW, I'm not interested in splashing green.

Why Phyrexian Totem  without Damnation  ? Also, replace the Talisman of Dominance  with your favorite black  signet  . You get the same amount of mana either way. The Nighthawk would love Blade of the Bloodchief  (more life) and Viridian Claw  (first strike + deathtouch = hilarity) if you go that way.
Clever deduction Watson! Maybe you can explain why Supergirl is trying to kill me.

Because Damnation is not a $4 dollar card. I should run Dimir Signet though, great recommendation. If I were to run Viridan Claw  , what would you recommend cutting? I'm thinking Duress  isn't entirely necessary, especially in multiplayer games. I'm also thinking I might not need 4 Phyrexian Arena

He's playing it because it goes well with Death Cloud  .
@OP
I think you should play Inquisition of Kozilek  over Duress , it's much more relevant against aggro, and still so very relevant against control.
The deck might want Sorin's Thirst  over Smother  .
Everflowing Chalice  is going to be strictly better than Dimir Signet if you decide to put it in, since you can't do anything with the blue mana (well I guess if you get double Signets out it isn't exactly irrelevant, but basically the Chalice is going to be better in all practical situations).
The chalice isn't strictly better because it can't make black mana. Sorin's Thirst does make sense and I was considering it.

Signet doesn't make Black mana either. In your deck it basically reads "  ,  : Add  to your mana pool." Well, unless you have a Pristine Talisman  or another Signet out. I didn't consider the Talisman's earlier when I was formulating my argument, I guess that makes it a little stronger. I think the versatility of being able to throw more mana into it to make bigger Death Clouds and have more mana after a Cloud is generally going to be more relevant though.
