Hello, I was wondering if Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and his protection would keep him safe from Oblivion Ring or Fiend Hunter ? Since they enter the battlefield as permanents, they would work right?

yes, their triggers are abilities, not spells, so Emrakul's protection does not apply

I figured as much, but I was confused as to which came first, them coming into play then triggering? Or triggering then coming into play? You helped to clarify, thank you

Entering the battlefield is the trigger condition, and meeting that condition is what causes the ability to trigger.
Fiend Hunter and O-ring target as permanents, not spells (if they were still spells they wouldnt be on the battlefield, so they wouldnt have triggered yet).

That makes no sense to me.
If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed?

Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch . YAY COLOR IDENTITY
Is algebra really that difficult?
Survey says yes.
You want to make a milky drink. You squeeze a cow.
I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

Fiend Hunter and O-ring target as permanents
nitpick: technically, they don't target at all, it's their triggered abilities that do all the targeting
