I changed scores on 13 reading it as 12, then realized I screwed up and changed things back. But double-check to make sure I got things back to right. (Note: I thought my score against razorborne was wrong, but was looking at the wrong columns. I think I changed 13 v 6 and 13 v 7, but I'm not sure anymore. Sorry. :/)

Don't get me wrong. I'm asking why is there such a thing as Haiku and not why someone would want to create a format out of it.
It's a traditional form of Japanese poetry meant to emphasize juxtaposition in a confined space. If you're really interested, here ya go.
From the way it's described on wiki, it's a form of poetry and the sylable count isn't very strict as poets use their creative license.

Note the use of "traditional". Even Shakespeare messed with his iambic pentameter.

Ultimately most of the 3 card decklists we submit will not resemble anything like poetry. I would be surprised if any of them even made sense..... now I'm searching gatherer for a 3 card decklist which makes haiku and actually makes sense....
Found one. Of course it doesn't meet the 5, 7, 5 requirements but then again most of the haiku I've been reading today doesn't. In reality (from what I've found) it's a very soft rule.

I'm pretty sure Caldera's suggestion intends to be that the deck follow the meter strictly (two five-syllable card names and one seven-syllable card name), and don't care whatsoever whether or not the result is poetic or sensical.

Sorry to divert attention away from this discussion, but has the new round started yet?

I don't even think people are in agreement whether they believe the current poll is valid. There seem to be people who voted for my format that now wish to revoke their vote ever since I clarified what my proposed format was.

when talking to poets, yes, they'll take license. but when one says "haiku", one is referring to 5-7-5 form.
@format controversy: just run mark's thing the way mark sent it in. this is a forum game. it's not a big deal.
