Splinter Twin / Deceiver Exarch is fun.
I also like random Necropotence variant/ Cadaverous Bloom / Consume Spirit .
Then there are the ridiculous ones: Primordial Hydra and Doubling Season or Corpsejack Menace . Beastmaster Ascension with eldrazi spawn. Opalescence with Parallax Wave where I exile their stuff and in response exile the wave. (Hint: The wave is the only thing coming back.)
Then there are the spontaneous interactions. In a multiplayer game, "Oh, you played Phage last turn? Cool. Oblivion Ring ." And now I have stolen a player.
Scythe of the Wretched
Spawning Pit (or any sac engine)
With Scythe of the Wretched attached, have Triskelion ping itself. Let that resolve, and then have it ping anything else until it has no more counters. Then sac Triskelion to Spawning Pit . The scythe's ability will trigger, bringing Triskelion back to the battlefield with 3 +1/+1 counters and Scythe of the Wretched attached. Repeat.
This is a difficult combo to interrupt since there's only two places it can be done:
1. Destroying either piece in response to the Scythe's equip ability.
2. Destroying the Scythe in response to the Scythe's triggered ability once Triskelion has been sacrificed.
If your opponent attempts to interrupt at any other time, you can have Triskelion damage itself and then sac it. You can then continue the combo, never giving your opponent's ability/spell the chance to resolve.
As an added bonus, if your opponent interrupts at the 2nd opportunity, you still get a fully-loaded Triskelion back, just without the scythe attached to it.
I like simple interactions. Cards that are good on their own, but when you put them together you get something really nice that just feels right.
Squadron Hawk into Faithless Looting or Brainstorm .
This thread made me think. I love combos, but I like so many different ones, that I honestly can't name one.
It might be energy field + wheel of sun and moon though. I really like combos that make you invulnerable, and this one is cheap enough to actually work (besides it can all be tutored by muddle the mixture , perhaps my favorite card in the game)
I like to include combos in my EDH decks:
Riku of Two Reflections likes Turnabout + Call to Mind + Mystic Retrieval . Once a critical mass of lands is reached, this creates infinite mana (and infinite card draw with Lunar Mystic in play, as I discovered last night).
Ghave, Guru of Spores goes to town with Phyrexian Altar + Melira, Sylvok Outcast + any Persist creature + Blood Artist / Falkenrath Noble . "I've just sucked one year of your life away. I might one day go as high as five, but I really don't know what that would do to you."
The Mimeoplasm 's favorite is Mindcrank + an active Bloodchief Ascension . He also runs Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond just for kicks.
Deadeye Navigator + Palinchron is my new favorite way to make infinite mana in my Sharuum the Hegemon deck.
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Curiosity is fun.
Spirit Mantle on Priests of Norn is one of Doran, the Siege Tower 's favorites.
Melira, Sylvok Outcast : Any persist creature. (You can also use Mikaeus, the Unhallowed with them for a similar effect.) or Phyrexian Unlife
Doubling Season , Parallel Lives , Corpsejack Menace , proliferate: The first is a meme. Synergy with Doubling Season: X/6.
Isochron Scepter : Heroes' Reunion ( Sanguine Bond and Drogskol Reaver , to name two possibilities, optional), Withstand Death , Lightning Helix , Aggressive Urge , Unsummon , Fog , Counterspell , Swords to Plowshares (especially when you're running infect), and Eladamri's Call gives creatures a ping. These are a few of my favorite things.
Painter's Servant : Makes Chandra Ablaze good, breaks Grindstone , and, um, part of creating a computer?
Bloodchief Ascension : Break mill. Make Hideous End even more grief-tastic by using it on your opponent's turn.
Precursor Golem : Pick a cantrip. Any cantrip.
Triskelion with Sadistic Glee and Death Pits of Rath
Plague Wind and Biorhythm
Sanguine Bond and Blood Tribute
Earthcraft and Squirrel Nest
Maelstrom Archangel and Steel of the Godhead , with maybe a Knight of New Alara thrown in for fun.
Augury Adept and Steel of the Godhead
Thornwind Faeries and Charisma
I could go on, there's SOOO many...
I'm into Exarch / Twin as well.
I also like Hive Mind + Pact .
And finally, the most difficult to pull off: Viscera Seer + Reveillark + Protean Hulk + Mogg Fanatic + Body Double .
Get Protean Hulk out and make sure you can kill it. When it dies, fetch BD, and VS, unless you already have one. Sack BD (he's a copy of PH), and fetch Reveillark and MF. Sack MF. Sack Reveillark to VS. Return BD (as VS) and MF. Sack MF. Sack BD to VS. Repeat until all is dead. I think I explained that right. Oh, and the reason I'm into it, is that you really only have to play one colour land. Green or Red both work. Blue does in casual or eternal formats, but I'm into Modern. I mean, I guess you could do Blue in Modern too, but it'd be hard.
Oh, another card for the Bloodchief Ascension: Maralen of the Mornsong . This one gives you a tutor and ensures your opponent will lose 3 life every one of his turns. More importantly, she gives your opponent a compulsory tutor. Archive Trap or Mindcrank now.
Another cool infinite thing is Intruder Alarm . I like to think of Bloodline Keeper and Intruder Alarm as an ever-growing army of vampires.
Another cool thing to do with the Alarm is that it's another Splinter Twin combo piece.
